The Board of County Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus, <br />North Carolina, met' in regu,lar session at the County Courthouse in <br />Concord, North Carolina~ at 9:30 o'clock A.M., on February 7, 1972. <br /> <br /> Present: .Robert A..lqaClary <br /> C. Frank J~mes <br /> Charles Galltmore <br /> John A. Ham~ett <br /> <br /> Absent: Nome <br /> <br /> * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br /> The Royal Oaks Sanitary District requested that the Board adopt <br /> <br />the following resolution which was read: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR STAGGERED TERMS <br /> FOR ME~i~ OF THE S~NITARY DISTRICT <br /> BOARD OF THE ~OYAL OAKS SANITARY DISTRICT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners for the County of <br /> <br />Cabarrus has received from the Sanitary District Board of the Royal <br />Oaks Sanitary District a resolution requesting that the Board of <br />Commissioners adopt such resolution as is required by Section 126 of <br />Chapter 130 of the General Statutes of North Carolina proViding for <br />the election of members of the sanitary District Board of the Royal <br />Oaks Sanitary District for staggered four-year terms, so that at one <br />general election the terms Of three members will expire and at the <br />next general election the terms of two members will expire; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus <br /> <br />find that such request is reasonable and in the best interest of the <br />Royal Oaks Sanitary District in that it would provide for a continuity <br />of experience on the Sanitary District Board of the Royal Oaks Sanitary <br />District; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />FOR THE COUNTY OF CABARRUS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the term of office of the members of the Royal <br /> <br />Oaks Sanitary District Board shall be for four years and until their <br />successors..qualify; that the terms shall be staggered so that at the <br />first biennial election after the adoption of this resolution, and <br />every four years thereafter, three members of the Royal Oaks Sanit~ry <br />District Board shall be elected for four-year terms, and that at the <br /> <br /> <br />
