AGREEMENT <br /> <br /> FOR <br /> <br /> MUTUAL ASSISTANCE IN LAW ENFORCEMENT <br /> <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br /> ROWAN COUNTY <br /> <br /> TilIS AGREEMENT entered into this 7th day of <br /> <br /> August , 19 72, by and between the County of Rowan, Party <br /> <br /> of the First Part, and the County of Cabarrus , <br /> Party of the Second Part, <br /> WITNESSETH: <br /> <br /> TItAT WtlEREAS the General Assembly of North Carolina did <br /> enact into law G. S. 160A-288 to authorize law enforcement officers of one <br /> political subdivision of the State to be sent to another political subdivision of <br /> the State in cases of emergency, the same being Chapter 846 of the 1967 <br /> Session Laws of the General Assembly of North Carolina; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS that act further provides that upon entering into a <br /> reciprocal agreement, assistance by law enforcement officers from one <br /> political subdivision may be rendered to the other political subdivision upon <br /> a proper declaration of emergency by the chief elected official, of the political <br /> ~ cl' .- <br /> u~> :~x~s~on or, in his absence, the person normally acting in his stead in case <br /> of absence; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS it is deemed to be in the public interest for the Party <br /> of the First Part and the Party of the Second Part to enter into an agreement <br />for mutual assistance in law enforcement; <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE in consideration of the mutual covenants <br />hereinafter expressed, and for the purpose of furnishing mutual assistance <br />in [aw enforcement, in the form of law enforcement officers, other personnel, <br />equipment, and materials, in cases of emergency, it is hereby agreed as <br />fo 1 lows: <br /> <br /> i.
