Gallimore made motion to certify the Flowe's Store, Mount Pleasant Rural, <br /> <br />Poplar Tent and Rimer Volunteer Fire Departments. Motion seconded by McClary <br /> <br />and vote carried. <br /> <br /> James made motion that the Centralina delegate make the final decision at the <br /> <br />October 10, 1972 meeting of the Council of Government on the 6¢ assessment for the <br /> <br />Water Quality Management Planning Study. Motion seconded by McClary and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Gallimore made motion, seconded by James, that the County and City Building <br /> <br />Inspection Departments be combined effective November 1, 1972. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Having no futher business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> \ <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on October 8, 1972, at the Charlotte Motor <br /> <br /> Speedway in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, the "CABARRUS <br /> <br /> 500" stock car race will be held; <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, the Concord, Kannapolis and Mt. <br /> <br /> Pleasant Jaycees, the Concord Chamber of Commerce-Merchants <br /> Association, and the Kannapolis Merchants Association and officials <br /> of the Charlotte Motor Speedway are sponsoring "CABARRUS 500 <br /> WEEK" which includes a parade and other activities in conjunction <br /> with said race and the Cabarrus County Commissioners feel that it <br /> is fitting and proper to declare the period from October 2, 1972, <br /> through October 8, 1972, to be "CABARRUS 500 WEEK"; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the period from October 2, 1972, <br /> <br /> through October 8, 1972, is hereby designated in Cabarrus County <br /> as "CABARRUS 500 WEEK" and the Cabarrus County Board of <br /> Commissioners hereby congratulates the sponsors of these events <br /> which bring recognition to Cabarrus County and its people. <br /> <br /> <br />
