197 <br /> <br />"~ Chairman Hawfield discussed delegated representation from Cabarrus County to'the <br />Central Piedmont Criminal Justice Planning Agency. Motion by Gallimore to reappoint <br />Commissioner Robert McClary, Sheriff J. B. Roberts, Jr., and Mr. Johnny Gordon, for <br />another term as delegates to the Central Piedmont Criminal Justice Planning Agency. <br />Motion seconded by James. Vote carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfteld discussed complaints that had been received with respect to <br /> <br />the County's Street Naming Project, specifically the ~Walker Road" being changed to <br />"Cress Road". Motion by Gallimore to refer these co~plaints to the County's Planning <br />& Zoning Board for disposition. Motion seconded by James. Vote carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfield discussed a letter from Mr. George L. Barrier, Chairman of the <br />County Planning Board. Mr. Barrier reported on the progress of the County Subdivision <br />Regulation and a Zoning Ordinance. Mr. Barrier reported, in his letter, that the <br />County Planning Board unanimously recommended to the Commissioners that Gary Wilson, <br />Manager of the Sign Department, be appointed as Planning Director of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett discussed the possibility of Gary Wilson attending the <br /> <br />Planning School at Chapel Ht11, N. C., in the fall. No action taken. Commissioners <br /> <br />will consider this matter again during budget hearings. <br /> <br /> Discussion by Chairman Hawfield and Commissioner Hammett regarding the future <br /> <br />plans for the Cabarrus County Health Department and other County Buildings. Discussion <br />included the feasibility of moving Mental Health, Agriculture Extension Service and <br />various other County Agencies to the County Buildings on Cabarrus Avenue, West. <br />Discussion concluded by Chairman Hawfield who asked for a ~otion to engage an Architect <br />for the purpose of preparing sketches for a new Cabarrus County Health Department. <br />McClary made motion that an Architect be retained to prepare sketches for a new Health <br />~epartment. Motion seconded by Gallimore.
