WHEREAS, The Board of Health has for many years been inadequately housed in the <br /> property, formerly known as the County Home Property which has been lacking in many respects; <br /> and ~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Health has made plans to erect a new building to house its <br /> <br /> offices, but is in need of five acres of land on which to build its plant; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of the County Commissioners of Cabarrus County is anxious-to further <br /> <br /> the plans of the Board of Health of Cabarrus County, and in particular the health-and <br /> <br />'we'lf~r~ of the citizens and residents of Cabarrus County and is willing to dedicate the <br /> following described property for the use and benefit of the Board of Health of Cabarrus <br /> County: <br /> <br /> Lying and being in No. 11 Township, Cabarrus County, North Carolina, <br /> in the southeastern intersection of Brown Mill Boulevard and U. S. Highway <br /> No. 601 By-Pass, adjoining the property of W. D. Stegall, Paul E. Beamon <br /> and Cabarrus County, and is more particularly described as follows: <br /> <br /> BEGINNING at a concrete monument at the southeastern intersection of <br /> the rights-of-way of U. S. Highway No. 601 By-Pass and Brown Mill Boulevard, <br /> and runs thence with the right-of-way of Brown Mill Boulevard South 85-14 <br /> East 94.9 feet to a concrete monument; thence North 4-46 West 20 feet to <br /> an iron stake in the right-of-way of Brown Mill Boulevard; thence w~th the <br /> southern edge of Brown Mill Boulevard North 85-14 East 262.6 feet to an ~ <br /> iron stake in the line of W. D. Stegall; thence with the line of Stegall <br /> and Paul E. Beamon South 5-10-10 East 437.53 feet to an iron stake on the <br /> southern edge of Peach Tree Street; thence with the southern edge of Peach <br /> Tree Street North 84-49-50 East 37.68 feet to an iron stake; thence South <br /> 5-10-10 East 200 feet to an iron stake; thence South 84-49-50 West 342.91 <br /> · feet to an iron stake in the eastern right-of-way line of U. S. Highway <br /> No. 601 By-Pass; thence with the said highway right-of-way line North l0 <br /> West 622.25 feet to the point of BEGINNING,'~containing 5 acres, according <br /> to a survey by Kannapolis Surveying, Inc., dated August 6, 1974, and is <br /> part of that property conveyed by Mrs. Missouri F. Brown to Cabarrus County <br /> by deed Dated January 11, 1917, and recorded in Record of Deeds Book No. 86, <br /> page 288. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County, <br /> <br /> North Carolina, that the tract of land as he'reinbefore described be and the same is hereby <br /> dedicated to the use and benefit of the Board of Health of Cabarrus County for use as the <br /> Cabarrus County Health Center and such other directly related programs that may be eligible <br /> for federal and state grants under the Hospital Survey and Construction (Hill-Burton) <br /> Act; and <br /> <br /> . RESOLVED FURTHER, that the dedication for such use shall continue for a period of <br /> fifty years from October 1, 1974; and ~ <br /> <br /> RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this Resolution be recOrded in the Office of the <br /> Register of Deeds for Cabarrus County, North Carolina. <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfield was asked to write a letter to George Monaghan expressing the Boards <br /> sentiment against the hiring practices of Centralina Council of Governments. ,~ <br /> <br /> Upon motion by Commissioner McClary, seconded by Commissioner James, the following <br /> resolution was unanimously adopted. ~ii~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Cabarrus County and the City of Concord are jointly building a Regional <br /> <br />Waste Water Treatment Plant with the assistance of the State and Federal governments for <br />the use of the citizens of Cabarrus County and the municipalities located therein at a <br />cost in excess of $37,000,000.00; and <br /> <br /> <br />
