He continued by stating that the citizen's help was <br />needed to relay to the sheriff's department anything out of the ordinary that occurred <br />in their neighborhood. <br /> <br /> At 10:00 a.m., the Board accepted and opened bids for grading and related site <br /> <br />work for the ambulance satellite building. Motion seconded by Commissioner <br />Hammett and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Representative Art Thomas stated that there was a Judiciary II hearing on March 13, <br /> 1975 at 8:30 a.m. to discuss the amendment to the mass gathering statute. He asked the <br /> Commissioners to send a representative and/or the county attorney. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Marion Boyd with the Logan Day Care Center asked for two new employees at a <br /> cost of $210.00 per week and $4,300.00 in additional funds. The Board asked to delay <br /> action until they had time to consider the matter. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett made motion to concur with the Manpower Advisory Committee's <br /> request to apply for funds to maintain present training programs plus a supplemental <br /> request for $128,000.00. Commissioner Hinson seconded the motion and vote carried. <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Hammett, Commissioner Milloway was appointed as liaison <br /> to the Manpower Advisory Committee. <br /> <br /> Hugh Price with Soil Conservation asked if Cabarrus County would have a soil <br /> survey made with the approximate cost of $60,000.00 being spread over a five year <br /> period. The Board is to take the matter under consideration. <br /> <br /> Commissioner McClary made motion to approve the pre-application with the <br /> <br /> Community Development Act of Cabarrus County's intent to apply for a grant. Motion <br /> seconded by Commissioner Milloway and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Hammett, seconded by Commissioner Hinson and carried, <br /> to reappoint C. William Cook as a Watershed Improvement Commissioner for a six year term <br /> beginning February 15, 1975. <br /> <br /> <br />
