William R. Wade, County Manager, reported on the move to the new Courthouse. <br /> <br /> Commissioner McClary made motion, seconded by Commissioner Hinson and carried, to <br /> <br />adopt the following resolution: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION <br /> TO THE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS AND AGENCIES <br /> WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE SEARCH FOR AND CAPTURE OF <br /> DONALD LEE HARDING <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that the Commissioners of Cabarrus County on their behalf and behalf <br /> <br />of all of the citizens of Cabarrus County, hereby express their appreciation to the law enforce- <br />ment officers and personnel of the Sheriff's Department of Cabarrus County and the Kannapolis <br />Police Department, the Concord Police Department and the Concord ABC Officers, the Iredell <br />County Sheriff's Department, the State Bureau of Investigation, ~he State Highway Patrol, <br />and the Department of Corrections who participated in the search for and capture of Donald <br />Lee Harding, and the Commissioners express their appreciation to the Charlotte Police Depart- <br />ment and the Manual Kiser for the generous use of their helicopters in said search and capture. <br />The Commissioners commend all who participated in the search and capture for the professional <br />manner in which they performed their duties during this time and for the long hours and extra <br />work they gave. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be furnished each law enforcement <br />agency and to Mr. Kiser. <br /> <br /> UNANIMOUSLY ADOPTED by the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County at its regular <br />meeting on the 9th day of October, 1975. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett made motion to approve the abandonment of SRl137, SR1620 & SRl192. <br />Motion seconded by Commissioner Milloway and vote carried. <br /> <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Hinson and seconded by Commissioner McClary for the <br />adoption of the following resolution, and upon being put to a vote was duly adopted: <br /> <br /> THAT WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners (hereinafter referred to as <br />VSponsor") has made a formal application to the Department of Transportation and Highway <br />Safety (hereinafter referred to as "Department") for State financial aid for airport <br />development and improvement; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a grant in the maximum amount of $6,000.00 or in an amount equal to fifty <br /> <br />percent (50%) of the non-federal share of the total cost of the project, whichever is <br /> <br />less, has been approved; <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Chairman of the Sponsor be <br /> <br />and he hereby is authorized and empowered to enter into a contract with the Department <br />as may be necessary to effectuate the aforesaid expressed purpose, thereby binding the <br />Sponsor to the fulfillment of its obligation incurred under this resolution and to its <br />agreement under the said contract with the Department. <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfield was appointed representative to the Family Planning Program and <br /> <br />asked the Health Board to recommend a consumer that would make a good representative. <br /> <br /> The Board briefly discussed the franchised garbage hauler with particular emphasis <br /> <br />on Harrisburg. <br /> <br /> <br />
