Company provided the bid is in order and to amend the budget by $8,450., with the revenue to <br /> be appropriated from unappropriated surplus. The motion was seconded by Commissioner McClary <br /> and vote unanimously carried. <br /> <br /> Bids for Movable Equipment for Piedmont Area Mental Health Center was opened and read <br /> <br /> as follows: <br /> <br /> Bids for Brayton International <br /> <br /> Millers Office Equipment $11,433.84 <br /> Penegar Interiors 11,985.40 <br /> Rowan Office Equipment 12,894.85 <br /> <br /> Bids for Audiovisual Equipment <br /> <br /> Southeastern Sight & Sound $4,280.89 <br /> <br /> Commissioner Milloway made motion to accept the low bid subject to state approval. Motion <br /> <br /> seconded by Commissioner McClary and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Milloway made motion to appoint Mary Sneed Boger as Chairman of the <br /> <br /> Bicentennial Committee. Motion seconded by Commissioner McClary and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Hinson, seconded by Commissioner McClary and carried, <br /> <br /> authorization for the advertisement of bids for furniture for the health department was given. <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfield made motion, seconded by Commissioner Hinson and carried, to enter the <br /> following bid opening in the minutes. At 3:00 p.m.on February 27, 1976, the following bids <br /> for a 20 channel recorder for Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department were opened and read: <br /> <br /> Dictaphone Corporation $13,391.00 <br /> Magnasync/Moviola Corporation 13,483.00 <br /> Stancil/Hoffman 12,300.00 <br /> <br /> The bids were turned over to Dennis Whitaker, LEAA, and Systech Corporation for verification <br /> <br /> and action. <br /> <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner Hinson, seconded by Commissioner Milloway and carried, the <br /> <br /> following road petitions were approved: Request for addition - Mary Circle and Wyoming Drive. <br /> <br /> William R. Wade, County Manager, discussed the two proposals from Parke Elevator Company <br /> <br />and Dover Elevator Company for the maintenance of the elevators in the courthouse. <br />Commissioner Hinson made motion to secure the services of Dover Elevator Company at the cost <br />of $54.00 per month. Motion seconded by Commissioner Milloway and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Attorney John Boger reported that Gene Cook had requested that the Board appoint three <br /> <br />persons to replace the deceased members of the airport committee. The Board asked that <br /> <br />Gene Cook be asked to report on the progress of the airport study at the next meeting. <br /> <br /> Pursuant to a request from Sheriff Roberts, Commissioner Milloway made motion to amend <br /> <br />the budget'to provide juice for the prisoners. Commissioner Milloway withdrew the motion and <br />asked that Sheriff Roberts and William R. Wade get together to decide the best method of <br />purchasing the juice. <br /> <br /> Commissioner McClary made motion to accept the resignation of Edward Overcash from the <br /> <br />Planning Board. Motion seconded by Commissioner Hinson and vote carried. <br /> <br /> The Board discussed the towhship boundary line between township 6 and township 7. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hinson made motion that Jack Alston, County Planner, investigate and report at <br /> <br />the next meeting. Motion seconded by Commissioner Milloway and vote carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
