Commissioner Milloway made motion that the ordinance is <br />introduced to the Board for adoption and that a public hearing be held at the next regular <br />meeting. Motion seconded by Commissioner McClary and vote carried. The Board stated that <br />copies would be available to the public for fifty cents per copy~ <br /> <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Hammett and seconded by Commissioner Milloway for the <br /> <br /> adoption of the following resolution, and upon being put to a vote was duly adopted: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners has requested the North Carolina <br /> <br />Board of Transportation to provide one-half of the non-federal cost of the following mass <br />transportation project: Cabarrus County Transit Development Plan at an estimated total <br />cost of $33,400.00 of which the non-federal cost amounts to $6,680.00. / <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Chairman of the Cabarrus County <br /> <br />Board of Commissioners be and he hereby is authorized and empowered to enter into a contract <br />with the Board of Transportation as may be necessary to effectuate the aforesaid expressed <br />purpose, thereby binding the said County Board of Commissioners to the fulfillment of its <br />obligation incurred under said contract and this resolution. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett made motion to approve the lease agreement with the Piedmont Area <br /> <br />Mental Health Centers. Motion seconded by Commissioner M~lloway and vote unanimously carried. <br /> <br /> Terry Rowland, Tax Supervisor, presented a land use schedule. Commissioner McClary <br /> <br />made motion to adopt the land use schedule as presented. Motion seconded by Commissioner <br /> <br />Hammett and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Sheriff J. B. Roberts asked the Board to reject the low bid on the 12 channel recorder <br /> <br />for the sheriff's department, due to the fact that surrounding counties having this equipment <br />could not get it maintained. Commissioner Hammett made motion that the next low bid by <br />Dictaphone Corporation be accepted subject to federal and state approval. Motion seconded by <br />Commissioner McClary and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Sheriff Roberts told the Board that the legislature had passed legislation making fortune <br /> <br />telling illegal in 65 counties. Commissioner Milloway made motion that the Board go on record <br />endorsing this legislation and ask that they make Cabarrus County the 66th county. Motion <br />seconded by Corm~issioner McClary and vote carried. <br /> <br /> Commissioner McClary made motion, seconded by Commissioner Hammett and carried to adopt the <br />following resolutions: <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that the fee schedule for the Cabarrus County Building Inspector <br /> <br /> is hereby amended to provide that any person, firm, or corporation that begins any <br /> <br /> type of work requiring a permit or permits from the Cabarrus County Building Inspector <br /> <br /> <br />
