BEGINNING as a point (1) on N. C. Highway 73 at the Cabarrus-Mecklenburg <br />County Line; thence in a northwesterly direction along the Cabarrus-Mecklenburg <br />County Line to a point (2) 0.1 mile northwest of Road 1600; thence in a <br />northeasterly direction to a point (3) on Road 1607, 0.2 mile southwest of <br />its intersection with Road 1601; thence in a northwesterlydirection along <br />Road 1607 to a point (4) 0.1 mile southwest of its intersection with Road 1609; <br />thence in an easterly direction to a point (5) on Road 1609, 0.7 mile northwest <br />of its intersection with Road 1442, excluding property on Road 1609 between <br />this and the preceding point; thence in a southeasterly direction to a point (6) <br />on Road 1609 at the b ridge over Coddle Creek, including property on Road 1609 <br />between this and the preceding point; thence in a southeasterly direction to <br />a point (7) on Road 1619, 1.0 mile north of its intersection w~h Road 1620; <br />thence in a southeasterly direction to a point (8) on Road 1621, 0.3 mile <br />north of its intersection with Road 1620; thence in a southeasterly direction <br />to a point (9) on N. C. Highway 73, 0.8 mile east of the bridge over Afton <br />Run Creek, at the Duke Power Company transmission line; thence in a south- <br />westerly direction along the Duke Power Company transmission line to a. <br />point (10) at its intersection with Coddle Creek; thence in a southwesterly <br />direction to a point (11) at the intersection of Roads 1442 and 1394, including <br />property on Road 1444 between this and the preceding point; thence in a <br />southwesterly direction to a point (12) on Road 1445, 0.8 mile south of its <br />intersection with Road 1394; thence in a westerly direction to a point (13) on Road <br />1448, 0.8 mile south of its intersection with Road 1394; thence in a westerly <br />direction to a point (14) on Road 1461, 0.1 mile southeast of its intersection <br />with Road 1449; thence in a westerly direction to a point (15) on Road 1449 <br />at the Cabarrus-Mecklenburg County Line; thence in a northly direction along <br />the Cab arrus-Mecklentnrg County Line to a point (1), the BEGINNING. <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION-WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County has <br /> <br />received a petition from fifteen percent (15%) of the resident freeholders <br /> <br />living in an area lying outside the corporate limits of any city or town, <br /> <br />which area is described hereinafter and is designated in said petition as <br /> <br />Georgeville Fire District; and whereas, the Tax Supervisor of Cabarrus <br /> <br />County has certified that the petition is executed by 15% of the resident <br /> <br />freeholders living in the area described; and whereas, the Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />of Cabarrus County has consulted with Cabarrus County Board of Election; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that under the provisions <br /> <br />of G. S. 69-25.2 an election be held on the llth day of Decemb er 1976, as <br /> <br />by law provided to submit to the qualified voters in the area hereinafter <br /> <br />described the question of levying and collecting a special tax on all taxable <br /> <br />property in,said district, not exceeding 15¢ of the $100.00 valuation of <br /> <br />property, for the purpose of providing fire protection in said district. <br /> <br />Said district area is described as follows: <br /> <br /> BEGINNING at point (1) on the Cab arrus-Stanly County Line on N. C. <br />Highway 200; thence following the County Line northeasterly to a point (2) <br />1.50 miles northeast from its intersection with Mission Road (SR No. 2625); <br />thence in a northwesterly direction to a point (3) on County Line Road <br />(SR No. 2623) 0.8 miles northeast from its intersection with Crayton Road <br />(SR No. 2624); thence in a northwesterly direction to a point (4) on Barrier <br />Store Road (SR No. 1100) 1.1 miles northeast from its intersection with <br />Crayton Road ~R No. 2624); thence in a southwesterly direction to a point (5) <br />on Mount Pleasant Road (SR No. 1006) 0.3 mile northeast from its intersection <br />with Miami Church Road (SR No. 1132); thence in a westerly direction to <br />a point (6) on Miami Church Road (SR No. 1132) 1.1 miles northwest of its <br />intersection with Mount Pleasant Road (SR No. 1006); thence in a southwesterly <br />direction to a point (7) on N. C. Highway 200, 1.6 miles northwest of its <br />intersection with Mount Pleasant Road (SR No. 1D06); thence in a southwesterly <br />direction to a point (8) on U. S. Highway 601, 0.4 miles north of its <br />intersection with Joyner Road (SR No. 1105); thence in a southerly direction <br />to a point (9) on U. S. 601, 0.1 mile south of its intersection with <br />Joyner Road (SR No. 1105); thence in an easterly direction to a point (10) <br />on Mount Pleasant Road (SR No. 1006) 0.2 mile south of its intersection with <br />Joyner Road (SR No. 1105); then Due South to a point (11) where Bost Creek <br />enters Rocky River; thence in a southerly direction following Rocky River <br />to a point (12) where Meadow Creek enters Rocky River; thence in a northeasterly <br />direction along Meadow Creek to a point (13) on the Cabarrus-Stanly County <br />Line; thence in a northeasterly direction with the Cabarrus-Stanly County Line <br />to the point of BEGINNING. <br /> <br /> <br />
