The Fire Marshal
coordinated all county fire departments toward better training, more organization,
communication between departments, was responsible for a better rapport in the
departments, and kept departments well informed of changes and the need for
changes.

The previous Fire Marshal was responsible for the creation of the county-wide
Arson Investigation Squad, was manipulating a uniform training program, helped
in the preparing of department budgets and ratings, and was responsible for
numerous activities not mentioned.

We the undersigned feel that firemen in Cabarrus County have gone backwards in-
stead of progressing in the service of Fire Marshal as we once knew.

Cabarrus County is one of the few counties at present that does not have a Fire
Marshal. To date, Cabarrus County does not have a person fulfilling the duties
of Fire Marshal to our satisfaction.
