UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner <br />Hammett and carried, this concept was endorsed as an addition <br />to the Cabarrus County Emergency Plan. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hammett, authorization was given <br /> <br />to advertise for bids for voting equipment. Motion seconded by <br />Commissioner Cook and vote carried .... <br /> <br /> County Manager, Charles McGinnis, reported that the <br /> <br />communication tower equipment bid has not been approved by <br /> <br />Criminal Justice so no action can be taken on the bid. <br /> <br /> MOTION BY Commissioner Milloway that Commissioner Hammett be <br />appointed the COG delegate with the alternates being the same as <br />last year. Motion seconded by Commissioner Hammett. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook a substitute motion was <br />introduced which appointed Commissioner Hammett as the COG delegate. <br />Motion seconded by Chairman Hawfield and vote carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> MOTION BY Commissioner Milloway the COG delegate alternates <br /> <br />were as last year, being Milloway, Cook, Hawfield and McClary <br />respectively. Motion seconded by Commissioner Hammett. Voted for - <br />Commissioners Hammett and Milloway. Voted against - Chairman <br />Hawfield, Commissioners McClary and Cook. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner McClary the alternates are <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfield, Commissioners Cook, Milloway and McClary <br /> respectively. Motion seconded by Commissioner Cook. Voted for - <br /> Chairman Hawfield, Commissioners McClary and Cook. Voted against - <br /> Commissioners Hammett and Milloway. <br /> <br /> Director of Social Services, Frances B. Long, recommended that <br /> the Food Stamp satellite office located in Kannapolis be closed. <br /> Some of the reasons are that the records are stored in Concord and <br /> must be transported, the emergency situation which created the need <br /> no longer exists, and the number using the office is declining. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hammett, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Milloway and carried, the Kannapolis Food Stamp Office will be <br /> closed. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hammett the agreement for reimburse- <br /> ment per diem costs of maintenance of persons in local confinement <br /> facilities of $10.00 per day was approved and Chairman Hawfield was <br /> authorized to send a letter of displeasure to the legislators. <br /> Motion seconded by Commissioner McClary and vote carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
