Red Fox Lane was approved.

Troy Doby, of Peirson & Whitman, Inc., presented the

Cabarrus County Master Water and Sewer Plan for the Board's
review. The Board decided to hold a work session next
Thursday, March 16. The Board accepted petitions which read:
"We the undersigned citizens of Southern Cabarrus County,
Hereby petition that as taxpayers we be included in the county
sewer and water program along with the rest of the county:".

Architect George Griffin reported that rock had been hit

at three of the twelve borings tested to help determine whether
there will be a rock problem at the site for Building B. CETA
Youthwork had not been allocated any space in Building B and
it was decided that they could use the basement. The Building
Committee recommended, that when Building C is completed and
everyone moves out of Building B, that Building B be demolished.
The excavation for the basement should then be attempted using
county equipment.

Chairman Hawfield read a list of capital projects which the

Board has considered or the need has been expressed. They are
as follows: Building B, Rocky River - Coddle Creek Outfall Line,
Philip Morris Outfall Line, Airport, Armory, Water and Sewer
Plan, Schools, Recreation, Ambulance Building, and Kannapolis
Police Department. Priorities and funding are to be discussed
at the special meeting next Thursday.

The Board authorized Architect Griffin to advertise for

bids for demolition of Building B to be accepted at the next

regular meeting.

Architect Griffin asked for additional funds to perform

some Exterior Work on Building C, which is estimated at $7,507.00.
He also asked for additional funds to pay for carpet in the Civil
Preparedness Offices. An error was made by the contractor, but
Mr. Griffin does not feel that we should make him bear the cost
of the carpet.

UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner
Hammett and carried, the County Manager was authorized to pay up to
$8,000.00 from continguency for landscaping and carpeting.

Commissioners McClary and Cook were appointed to a committee

to work with the National Guard and the City of Concord on the
possible construction of a new armory.
