145 <br /> <br />between Philip Morris and the local Authority. <br /> <br /> For the foregoing reasons he stated that he wished to disclose <br />to the Board of County Commissioners the work he would be doing <br />for Philip Morris on other matters, unrelated to the local Authority's <br />contract. However, based on his opinion and the opinion of the <br />Bond Attorneys that such work did not constitute a "direct or <br />indirect" interest in the contract between the Authority and <br />Philip Morris, he did not intend to disqualify himself from repre- <br />senting the Authority, unless the Authority or the Commissioners <br />requested him to do so. <br /> <br /> Mr. A.E. Partridge, Jr. presented a proposal for a July 4th <br />parade in Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner <br />Milloway and unanimously carried, this Board endorses a parade <br />and follow-up activities on July 4th in Cabarrus County. The <br />Cabarrus County Recreation Department is to work with Mr. Partridge <br />to coordinate these activities. <br /> <br /> A public hearing was held at 10:30 A.M. for the purpose of <br /> allowing citizens to express their opinion as to how Revenue <br /> Sharing Funds should be spent during fiscal year 1978-79. No <br /> one appeared with a proposal for revenue sharing use. <br /> <br /> Action was deferred on the appointments to the Board of <br /> <br /> Social Services until the June meeting. <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfield informed the Board of a letter from North <br /> Carolina Memorial Hospital asking for a reimbursement of $5,900 <br /> for services rendered to 24 citizens of Cabarrus County. The <br /> County Manager is to contact North Carolina Association of County <br /> Commissioners and ask if any other counties have received these <br /> letters. He is to give a report at the next meeting. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner McClary, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Hammett and unanimously carried, the County Attorney and the Sheriff <br /> are to contact surrounding counties in regard to contracts for <br /> law enforcement mutual aid. <br /> <br /> Mr. Robert Linz presented information on cable television <br /> <br /> in Cabarrus County. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Hammett and carried unanimously, this Board endorses the concept <br /> <br /> <br />
