205 NORTH CAROLINA CABARRUS COUNTY THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 1st day of July, 1978, by and between CABARRUS COUNTY, a govern- mental subdivision of the State of North Carolina, party of the first part, and CABARRUS RESCUE SQUAD, INC,, a non- profit organization of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, party of the second part; W I T N E S S E T H : That whereas, Cabarrus County operates an ambulance service; and whereas, Cabarrus Rescue Squad, Inc., is a non-profit corporation that operates a volunteer rescue squad in Cabarrus County, which rescue squad provides am- bulance service and rescue squad service in addition to and as a supplement to the regular ambulance service of Cabarrus County; and whereas, Cabarrus County is authorized to make contributions to the rescue squad under the pro- visions of G. S. 153A-445 and to operate an ambulance ser- vice under the provisions of G. S. 153A-250; and whereas, the parties desire to enter into a contract whereby Cab- arrus Rescue Squad, Inc., will provide rescue squad ser- vice and ambulance service in Cabarrus County in addition to the regular ambulance service; NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises and the agreements herein made, the parties do agree as follows: 1. That the Cabarrus Rescue Squad, Inc., will pro- vide voluntary rescue squad service and ambulance service in addition to the ambulance service provided by the Cab- arrus County Ambulance Service when dispatched by the Cab.. arrus County Communication Center or Cabarrus County Am- Service in addition to said rescue squad regular dispatching procedures: 2. For said ambulance service and rescue squad ser- vice Cabarrus County will pay to Cabarrus Rescue Squad, Inc,, the sum of Five Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($5,400.00) for the fiscal year 1978-1979, payable at the rate of Four Hundred Fifty Dollars ($450.00) per month.
