207 bulance service and rescue squad service in addition to and as a supplement to the regular ambulance service of Cabarrus County; and whereas, Cabarrus County is author- ized to make contributions to the rescue squad under the provisions of G. S. 153A-445 and to operate an ambulance service under the provisions of G. So 153A-250; and where- as, the parties desire to enter into a contract whereby Harrisburg Rescue Squad, Inc., will provide rescue squad service and ambulance service in Cabarrus County in add- ition to the regular ambulance service; NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises and the agreements herein made, the parties do agree as follows: 1. That the Harrisburg Rescue Squad, Inc., will pro- vide voluntary rescue squad service and ambulance service in addition to the ambulance service provided by the Cabar- rus County Ambulance Service when dispatched by the Cabarrus County Communication Center or Cabarrus County Ambulance Service in addition to said rescue squad regular dispatchin'g procedures. 2. For said ambulance service and rescue squad ser- vice Cabarrus County will pay to Harrisburg Rescue Squad, Inc., the sum of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) for the fiscal year 1978-1979, payable at the rate of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) per month. 3. That Harrisbu*rg Rescue Squad, Inc., will use the funds paid to it by Cabarrus County for rescue squad and ambulance service work and at the end of the fiscal year will make an accounting to Cabarrus County for the use of said funds. 4. This contract may be renewed by mutual agreement of the parties which can be evidenced by appropriation by Cabarrus County in its annual budget. The failure of Cab- arrus County to make an appropriation shall be evidence that the contract was not renewed. IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the parties have caused this instrument to be executed pursuant to authority duly given.
