246 <br /> <br /> Chairman Hawfield set November 9, 1978, as the date for the <br /> <br />second reading of the cablevision franchise ordinance. An ad- <br />journed meeting was scheduled for October 16, 1978, at 4:00 p..m. <br />for the awarding of the cablevision franchise. <br /> <br /> Mr. John Boger, County Attorney, suggested that the companies <br />interested in obtaining the cablevision franchise submit in writing <br />any valid objections to points in the franchise. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner <br />Cook and unanimously carried, the Board directed the County Planner, <br />Mr. Jack Alston, to install standard street signs on streets whose <br />names have been approved by the County Planning Department that do <br />not have signs, as funds become available. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Milloway <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to refund upon request money <br />paid by developers for the cost of standard street signs. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hammett, seconded by Commissioner <br />Milloway and unanimously carried, the Board moved to approve as <br />amended the following ordinance to become effective November 1, 1978, <br />(Any preliminary plat submitted to the Planning Department by January <br />1, 1979, will be exempt from this Subdivision Ordinance as long as <br />the final plat is recorded within ninety (90) days thereafter with <br />the Register of Deeds): <br /> <br />SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS <br /> <br />ARTICLE I. This ordinance shall be known and may be cited as the <br /> Subdivision Regulations of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, <br /> and may be referred to as the Subdivision Regulations or <br /> Ordinance. <br /> Section B. Purpose <br /> 1. The purpose of this ordinance is to guide and regulate <br /> the subdivision of residential land within the jurisdiction <br /> of Cabarrus County as provided in North Carolina General <br /> Statute - Chapter 153A-331. <br /> Section C.
