Archer / / Social Services <br /> Name mo./day/year Agency <br />Contract Manager~ Nutrition Program for the Elderly Title <br /> <br /> The Board postponed the granting of the Sewer Line Easement to Phillip <br />Morris until the next regular meeting to allow Mr. Maynard Tipps, Attorney <br />at Law, time to make changes in the document. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Allen, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following additions to the State <br />Road System. <br /> <br />Settlement Drive and a portion of Habitat Place <br />Homestead Drive - off Mulberry Road and Pharr Mill Road <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Bonds <br />with Chairman Cook and Commissioners Bonds, Milloway, and Allen voting for <br />and Commissioner Lentz voting against, the Board approved the appropriation <br />of $7,000.00 from the Commissioners' Contingency Fund to the Planning <br />Department to provide for street sign installation with the stipulation that <br />the Planning Department provide a closer approximation of funds needed <br />for this purpose in the 1980-81 budget. <br /> Mr. McGinnis informed the Board of the Transportation Improvement <br />Program hearing scheduled for April 21, 1980 at the University of North <br />Carolina - Charlotte. Chairman Cook is to make a presentation at this <br />hearing requesting that the State remove Poplar Tent Road from the <br />Secondary Road System and assign it to the Primary Road System. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Allen and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized the payment of $1,343.00 from <br />the Commissioners' Miscellaneous Fund to Mr. George Griffin, architect, for <br />the study completed on the feasibility of renovating the old County building <br />on Church Street. <br /> Chairman Cook stated that this was the day and hour scheduled for a <br />public hearing for the 1980 Cabarrus County Secondary Road Construction <br />Program and asked if anyone would like to speak regarding the program. <br /> Mr. John Kee appeared on behalf of residents of Township 1 and the <br />Rocky River Community to request that the bridge on Rocky River Road over <br />the Southern Railroad tracks be replaced. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Lentz <br />and unanimously carried, the Board agreed by resolution to inform the <br />North Carolina Department of Transportation that the bridge on the Rocky <br />River Road over the Southern Railroad tracks should be replaced. <br /> Mr. David Roberts and Mr. T. L. Patterson of the Department of <br />Transportation were present to review the secondary road program and to <br />ascertain the Board's decision regarding the proposed program for Cabarrus <br />County for 1980. <br /> Mr. Spence Harwood, resident of SR 2614, and Mr, Bill Patrick, resident <br />of SR 2680, spoke to the Board regarding the upgrading of these roads. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Milloway, seconded by Commissioner Lentz <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved by resolution the following <br />1980 Cabarrus County Construction Program, Priority 3, as presented by <br />Mr. T. L. Patterson and appropriated the $90,000.00 previously set aside <br />for the replacement of Bridge Number 149 on SR 1132 to the Secondary Road <br />Construction Program to be used to upgrade SR 2614, Priority 4, with work <br />to be completed on SR 2614 during the fiscal year 1981-82. <br /> <br /> <br />
