<br />Mr. Ted Nordman of Architectural Planning Associates was present to
<br />review the bids for construction of the proposed County service garage. He
<br />reported that based on the bids received the cost for completion of the
<br />service garage would be approximately $150,000.00. Bids received for this

<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Chairman Bonds with
<br />Commissioners Payne and Nash and Chairman Bonds voting for and Commissioners
<br />Cook and Lentz voting against, the Board moved to defer action o~ the bids
<br />received for the construction of the County service garage until the next
<br />Board meeting on January 19, 1981.
<br /> Mr. Charles McGinnis, County Manager, reported that Blue Cross Blue
<br />Shield of North Carolina was the only company submitting a bid proposal for
<br />group health insurance for the County.
<br /> Mr. Ken Doyle, Group Sales Representative with Blue Cross Blue Shield
<br />of North Carolina, was present to review the County Group Health Insurance
<br />and Optional Life and Dental Insurance Plan proposal submitted by that
<br />company for both an underwritten plan and a self-insuring health care plan.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Cook and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the self-insuring health care plan
<br />of Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina with a stop loss insurance coverage
<br />at 115% of expected claims and agreed for the County to pay the cost of life
<br />insurance for each County employee. The rates for health insurance and life
<br />insurance under this plan were as follows.
