486 <br /> <br /> D. Parking Spaces for Department Heads: Two (2) parking spaces <br />are hereby assigned to each department of County or State government <br />located in the Cabarrus County Courthouse to be assigned to the depart- <br />ment head and one assistant. The location of these parking spaces shall <br />be determined by the County Manager and these spaces shall be designated <br />by sign or other markings. <br /> E. Parking Spaces for Judges: Three (3) parking spaces shall be <br />reserved for the exclusive use of Judges of the General Court of Justice. <br />The location of these parking spaces shall be determined by the County <br />Manager and these spaces shall be designated by sign or other markings. <br /> F. County-owned Vehicles: Two (2) parking spaces are hereby <br />designated as parking spaces for County-owned vehicles. The location of <br />these parking spaces shall be determined by the County Manager and <br />these spaces shall be designated by sign or other markings. <br /> G. Other County Employee Parking: Three (3) parking spaces are <br />hereby designated as parking spaces for County employees who are <br />assigned to offices at other County buildings. The location of these <br />spaces shall be determined by the County Manager and the spaces shall be <br />designated by sign or other markings. <br /> H. All other parking spaces in the said parking lot are hereby <br />reserved for County employees, State employees having offices in the <br />Cabarrus County Courthouse; provided that County employees and State <br />employees with offices in the Cabarrus County Courthouse may only park <br />their vehicles in their assigned spaces on the said property after <br />obtaining said parking permit and having it displayed on the windshield <br />of their vehicles. Permits shall be issued to all County employees apply- <br />ing therefor and to all State employees having offices in the Courthouse <br />and applying therefor. Each person who has a parking permit shall be <br />assigned a space by the County Manager and may park his or he~ vehicle <br />only in said space. <br /> I. R~pair and Emergency Vehicles: Vehicles being used during <br /> repair or construction work, when it is necessary for them to be parked in <br /> a space other than a parking space, and emergency vehicles being used <br /> for emergency purposes are hereby exempted from this ordinance. <br /> J. County vehicles being serviced in the area of the gasoline pump <br /> are hereby exempted from this ordinance while being so serviced. <br /> K. Commissioner Parking: On days when the Board of Commissioners <br /> is holding m meeting, the County Manager may designate five (5) spaces <br /> from the public parking spaces as reserved spaces for the parking of <br /> the County Commissioners. When said spaces are so designated, only <br /> County Commissioners may park therein. <br /> <br /> SECTION 4. PENALTIES <br /> A. Obedience to this ordinance is chargeable to the person actually <br />operating or in control of the vehicle at the time it is parked on said <br />County property hereinbefore described; provided that proof of ownership <br />of any vehicle found parked in violation of this ordinance shall be <br />prima facie evidence that said owner parked said vehicle. <br /> B. The Sheriff of Cabarrus County, or any of his deputies, or <br />any County employee authorized by the County Manager, shall cause to <br />be attached to any vehicle parked in violation of the provisions of this <br />ordinance a notice to the owner or operator thereof to report to the <br />Sheriff's Department in regard to such violation. <br /> C. Each such owner or operator may, within twenty-four (24) hours <br />of the time when such notice was attached to such vehicle, submit to <br />the violation and pay, as a penalty in full satisfaction of such violation, <br />the sum of Five Dollars ($5.00). The failure of such owner or operator <br />to make such payment of said amount, within the said twenty-four hours <br />shall render such owner or operator subject to punishment for a misdemeanor <br />as hereinafter provided. <br /> D. The violation of any of the provisions of this ordinance shall <br />be a misdemeanor and punishable by fine not to exceed Fifty Dollars <br />($50.00) or imprisonment not to exceed thirty (30) days, or by both such <br />fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Court. <br /> E. Any vehicle parked in violation of this ordinance may be <br />removed from the property by Cabarrus County~or any agent of Cabarrus <br />County to a storage area or garage. If a vehicle is so removed the owner, <br />as a condition of regaining possession of said vehicle, shall be required <br />to pay to Cabarrus County all reasonable costs incidental to the removal <br />and storage of the vehicle. <br /> <br /> <br />
