<br /> Mr. T. L. Patterson, District Engineer of the North Carolina Department
<br />of Transportation, reviewed the procedure for adding roads to the state
<br />secondary road system for maintenance and the process for paving roads
<br />under the Property Owners Participation Program. In addition, Mr. Patterson
<br />asked that the Board revise the 1982-83 Cabarrus County Secondary Construction
<br />and Bond Program in order to correct the amount of the 1981-82 Bond Funds
<br />and to transfer all funds proposed for the spot stabilization program to
<br />the pavement widening project for which the State had overspent previously
<br />allocated funds.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Cook, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the addition of Twinkle Drive to
<br />the state secondary road system for maintenance.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Lentz and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board by resolution approved the request as contained
<br />in the letter from Mr. T. L. Patterson, District Engineer with the North
<br />Carolina Department of Transportation, to correct the balance of the 1981-82
<br />Bond Funds as shown in the 1982-83 Secondary Road Construction and Bond
<br />Program from $89,659.00 to $23,707.06 and to transfer all funds totaling
<br />$49,903.00 previously allocated for the spot stabilization of secondary
<br />roads to the pavement widening project. The revised 1982-83 Cabarrus
<br />County Construction Program is as follows.

<br /> Chairman Bonds stated that this was the day and hour scheduled for
<br />a public hearing for two road name changes and asked if anyone were
<br />present who wished to speak for or against these road name changes. No
<br />one was present regarding these road name changes.
<br /> UPON ~TION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Cook and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board denied the naming of an unnamed road as
<br />Poor Land Farm Road and referred the matter back to the Planning Department
<br />for the selection of a more suitable name.
