397 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Payne <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following amendment to <br />the Cabarrus County Personnel Ordinance as recommended by the County <br />Manager. <br /> <br />ARTICLE VI. LEAVES OF ABSENCE <br /> <br />Section 5. Vacation Leave - Manner of Accumulation. <br /> <br />Anniversary date of employment shall be used for determining earned <br />vacation. Ail employees shall earn vacation leave at the following rate: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Each employee with fewer than one year service shall earn <br />vacation leave at the rate of 3 hours and 20 minutes per <br />completed month, but no more than 40 hours per completed <br />year (2080 hours) of service. <br /> <br />Each emergency medical service personnel with fewer than <br />one year service shall earn vacation leave at the rate of <br />5 hours per completed month but no more than 60 hours per <br />completed year (3120 hours) of service. <br /> <br />Each employee with one year but less than five shall earn <br />vacation leave at a rate of 6 hours and 40 minutes per com- <br />pleted month, but no more than 80 hours per completed year <br />(2080 hours) of service. <br /> <br />Each emergency medical service personnel with one year but <br />less than five shall earn vacation leave at a rate of 10 <br />hours per completed month, but no more than 120 hours per <br />completed year (3120 hours) of service. <br /> <br />(c) <br /> <br />Each employee with five or more years of service shall earn <br />vacation leave at the rate of 10 hours per completed month, <br />but no more than 120 hours per completed year (2080 hours) <br />of service. <br /> <br />Each emergency medical service personnel with five or more <br />years service shall earn vacation leave at the rate of 15 <br />hours per completed month, but no more than 180 hours per <br />completed year (3120 hours) of service. <br /> <br />Emergency medical personnel shall be charged on an hour for <br />hour basis for leave taken. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following amendment to the <br />Cabarrus County Personnel Ordinance as recommended by the County Manager. <br /> <br />ARTICLE VI. LEAVES OF ABSENCE <br /> <br />Section 12. Sick Leave - Manner of Accumulation <br /> <br />Anniversary date of employment shall be used for determining earned sick <br />leave. For the purpose of calculating sick leave, the basic workweek <br />shall be forty (40) hours. Each full-time permanent and probationary <br />employee working the basic workweek shall earn sick leave at the rate of <br />eight (8) hours for each completed month, or ninety-six (96) hours for <br />each completed year of service. <br /> <br />Emergency medical service personnel shall earn sick leave at the rate of <br />twelve (12) hours for each completed month, or one hundred forty-four <br />(144) hours for each completed year of service. Emergency medical <br />personnel shall be charged on an hour for hour basis for sick leave taken. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ben Mabrey, Director of Emergency Services, presented the Cabarrus <br />County Disaster Relief and Assistance Plan which has been designed for <br />use in all natural and man-made disasters in the county except those as <br />a result of war and civil disturbances. <br /> <br /> <br />
