55O <br /> <br /> Mr. Luis Alvarez and Mr. Ralph Hartsell, realtor, spoke in support <br />of the rezoning of the property to permit the establishment of a beauty <br />salon in an existing house on the property. <br /> No one spoke in opposition to the rezoning petition. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the rezoning of property on <br />Cannon Boulevard, Map/PIN 5622(09)-17-8385, from O-I to C-1. <br /> <br />(4) <br /> <br />Petition 84-09, Farrar Griggs, Jr., township 4, Cannon Boulevard, <br />at the Willow S'treet intersection northside. Map/PIN 5623(05)-09- <br />4708, wishes to rezone from R-15 to RMF-7. The Planning Board granted <br />this request. <br /> <br /> Mr. Farrar Griggs, Jr., spoke in favor of the rezoning and outlined <br />the plans of Jarvis Enterprises, Inc., to build a 28 unit multi-family <br />complex on the property. A large number of persons present for the meeting <br />indicated their support of the rezoning by a show of hands. <br /> Ms. Janis Thomas, speaking on behalf of the Miracle Revival Church <br />and Reverend Katharine Brindle, presented a grievance regarding the denial <br />of a petition by the Planning Board in December, 1983, for the rezoning <br />of the same property from R-15 to RMF-7 to allow the church to build <br />housing for the elderly church members. The petition was withdrawn by <br />Reverend Brindle prior to consideration by the Board of Commissioners. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhardt, seconded by Commissioner Nash <br />and unanimously carried, the Board agreed to uphold the Planning Board's <br />recommendation approving Petition 84-09 to rezone Map/PIN 5623(05)-09- <br />4708 from R-15 to RMF-7. <br /> <br />(5) <br /> <br />Petition 84-10, Mike Wike, township 4, Front Street. Map/PIN 5613(12)- <br />77-6444, wishes to rezone from R-7.2 to C-3. The Planning Board <br />granted this request. The major concern of the Board was for Mr. Wike <br />to clean up the existing garage and to screen. <br /> <br /> Mr. James E. Scarbrough, attorney representing Mr. Mike Wike, spoke <br />in favor of the rezoning petition. No one was present in opposition to <br />the rezoning request. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved Petition 84-10 rezoning <br />Map/PIN 5613(12)-77-6444 from R-7.2 to C-3. <br /> <br />(6) <br /> <br />Petition 84-11, Cardinal Contract Carriers, Inc., township 4, Highway <br />73 West. Map/PIN 5601-37-3209, wishes to rezone from A-I to I-1. <br />The Planning Board granted this request. <br /> <br /> Mr. Frank Lord, President of Cardinal Freight, was present to answer <br />any'questions regarding the rezoning petition. <br /> No one spoke against the rezoning petition. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Nash and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved Petition 84-11 to rezone Map/PIN <br />5601-37-3209 from A-I to I-1. <br /> <br />ZONING TEXT AMENDMENTS <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />Page 15, Section 3.2-4, New Line Item: <br /> <br />Manufacturing and reproduction of specialty auto parts for vintage cars. <br /> <br />A-I I-1 <br />C p <br /> <br />C - Conditional Use P - Permitted Use <br />The Planning Board voted to accept this text amendment. <br /> <br />No one spoke either for or against the proposed zoning text amendment. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Nash, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the zoning text amendment as stated <br />above to make the manufacturing and reproduction of specialty auto parts <br />for vintage cars a conditional use in the A-I district and a permitted use <br />in the I-1 district. <br /> <br /> <br />
