216

It should be noted that the proposed PDO is being sought to assure that
the wholesale storage of petroleum products is not allowed on the subject
site. The only measure available to provide this protection under the
circumstanges and time constraints is through the PDO being sought. I
therefore ~ecommend that the PDO rezoning be passed.

No one spoke in opposition to the rezoning request.
UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Upright
and unanimously carried, the Board approved Petition 85-22 to rezone
property in Township 4, Map/PIN 5613(11)-57-1029 (lots 1, 15, and 16),
from R-7.2 to C-3/PDO.
UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhardt, seconded by Commissioner
Upright and unanimOusly carried, the Board asked that the Planning Board
and staff look into the possibility of pulling the wholesale gasoline
storage facilities out of a C-3 district or other business and residential
areas and locating them in some area that would be safer if there were an
explosion or fire.

(6)

Correction of mapping error, township 5, Map/PIN 5633-89-2589. This
property was inJdvertently omitted when property was rezoned on Old
Concord Salisbury Road in May 1983. The remainder of Mr. C. J.
Walter's property was rezoned at that time, and it was his under-
standing and intent that this parcel be included in that petition
brought by A. A. Linker.

There was no one present to speak for or against this correction.
UPON MOTION of Commissioner Upright, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt
and unanimously carried, the Board approved the correction of the mapping
error, township 5, Map/PIN 5633-89-2589. This property was inadvertently
omitted when the remainder of Mr. C. J. Walter's property was rezoned in
May 1983 under a petition brought by A. A. Linker.

ZONING TEXT AMENDMENTS

(1) Petition 85-06.
