314 <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br /> (d) department heads may with the prior approval of the <br /> county manager authorize pay to employees for over- <br /> time work when it is not feasible to permit their <br /> absence for the purpose of taking time off; and <br /> (e) the payment of overtime pay shall depend upon the <br /> availability of funds in the departmental budget. <br />Amend Article V, Section 1, to read as follows. <br /> <br />ARTICLE V. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT <br />Section 1. Workweek <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br /> Full-time employees work five (5) eight (8) hour days per <br />workweek from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. and are subject to the <br />overtime provisions set forth in Article III, Section 9. Law <br />enforcement and emergency services require a work schedule to <br />accommodate a twenty-four (24) hour, twenty-eight (28) day <br />workweek. Employees in administrative, professional or executive <br />positions shall work the number of hours necessary to assure the <br />satisfactory performance of their duties. <br /> <br />Amend Article VI, Section 19, to read as follows. <br /> <br />ARTICLE VI. LEAVES OF ABSENCE <br />Section 19. Calculation of Holiday Leave, Vacation Leave, and <br /> Sick Leave <br /> <br /> Holiday leave, vacation leave and sick leave earned by <br />permanent employees having a work week with fewer hours than <br />the basic work week shall be determined in accordance with the <br />following formula: <br /> <br />(4) <br /> <br /> (a) The number of hours worked by such employees shall be <br /> divided by the number of hours in the basic work week. <br /> (b) The proportion obtained in step (a) shall be multiplied <br /> by the number of hours of leave earned annually by <br /> employees working the basic work week. <br /> (c) The number of hours obtained in step (b), after rounding <br /> the nearest day shall be the amount of leave earned <br /> annually by the employees concerned. <br /> <br />Delete the following Section 28 from Article VI, Leaves of Absence. <br />Section 28. Public Officials Leave <br /> <br /> An employee who is elected to a public office which the employee <br />is entitled by law to hold may be granted leave with pay up to ten <br />(10) days per calendar year in order to fulfill the duties and <br />responsibilities associated with the office or position. Leave <br />time awarded in this category is not a right which an employee may <br />demand but a privilege granted by the Board of Commissioners. The <br />County Manager shall be vested with the authority to determine the <br />eligibility of an employee to participate in this special category <br />of leave. Requests for leave under this provision shall be <br />submitted to the employee's supervisor and then to the County <br />Manager. <br /> <br /> At 11:00 A.M., Chairman Lentz stated that this was the day and <br />hour scheduled for a public hearing for a proposed Zoning Text Amendment <br />in regards to rubber extrusion by the liquid cure material process and <br />asked if anyone were present who wished to speak for or against the <br />text amendment. No one spoke regarding the proposed amendment. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Barnhardt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the following Zoning Text <br />Amendment. <br /> <br />Petition 85-11. Amend page 13, Section 3.2-4, Schedule of Use <br />Regulations, addition of line item, Extrusion of Rubber by Liquid <br />Cure Material process (LCM) as a permitted use in C-3 and I-1 zones. <br /> <br /> The Board received the invitation from Mr. Gene Lentz, Chairman of <br />the Christmas Parade, to participate in the 57th Christmastown Express <br />Parade to be held on Saturday, November 23, 1985, at 3:00 P.M. Commissioners <br />Barnhardt, Hamby, and Payne expressed an interest in participating in <br />the parade. <br /> <br /> <br />
