165 <br /> <br /> 1. This contract shall begin July 1, 1989 and shall exist and continue <br /> through June 30, 1990. <br /> 2. Meals on Wheels shall provide its services to individuals who qualify <br /> for these services in relation to Meals onWheels established policies <br /> in a manner specified by these policies. These policies are understood <br /> to provide for compliance with Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights <br /> Act of 1964 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as <br /> appropriate, in addition to any other local ordinances, state laws, and <br /> federal regulations which may be applicable to Meals on Wheels and its <br /> services. <br /> 3. The County shall allocate and pay to Meals on Wheels twelve (12) <br /> monthly payments of $2137.50 each for a total of $25,650.00 with each <br /> payment to be made on or about the last day of each month commencing <br /> in July, 1989. <br /> 4. Meals on Wheels will undergo an audit of its operations conducted by <br /> a Certified Public Accountant and will submit a copy of the report of <br /> this audit to the Department of Social Services within ninety 90 days <br /> of the conclusion of Meals on Wheels~ established fiscal year. <br /> 5. Meals on Wheels agrees to hold the County and the Department of Social <br /> Services harmless for any and all liability, damages, or claims, <br /> including attorney's fees, that might be asserted or suffered by the <br /> County or the Department of Social Services as a result of any act or <br /> omission of any of Meals on Wheelsf officers, employees, agents or <br /> representatives arising out of this contract. <br /> 6. Cook, Jr., Social Services Director, to execute the following contract <br />between Cabarrus County and Cabarrus Victims Assistance Network, Inc. <br /> <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES <br />CONTRACT <br /> <br /> This contract made by and between Cabarrus County, hereinafter referred <br />to as the "County", by and through its Department of Social Services, and <br />Cabarrus Victims Assistance Network, Inc., hereinafter referred to as "CVAN". <br /> WITNESSETH <br /> WHEREAS, CVAN provides shelter and other supportive services to victims <br />of domestic violence and is properly incorporated in the State of North Carolina <br />for this purpose; and <br /> WHEREAS, CVAN wishes to secure the financial support of the County for a <br />portion of the costs incurred in providing these services; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County, in the interest of the welfare of its citizens, <br />desires to provide financial support for a portion of the costs incurred by CVAN <br />in its provision of these services; and <br /> WHEREAS, The County has appropriated the sum of $10,000.00 for this <br />purpose for the period July 1, 1989 through June 30, 1990. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises, the County and CVAN do <br />mutually agree to the following terms and conditions: <br /> 1.
