The Public Hearing Notice was also posted on the County's website ( www.cabarrus county. us ) on December 21, 2015 in accordance with Article 2, Administration, Section 2.1 (Use of Electronic Means to Provide Public Notices) of the Cabarrus County Code of Ordinances. There was no one present to address the Board; therefore, Chairman Morris closed the public hearing. In response to a question from the Board, Steve Cordell, Bond Attorney, advised the public hearing is the only item required tonight; final approval will be required at the February 15, 2016 regular meeting. No further action was required of the Board. (H) APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS AND COMMITTEES (H -1) Appointments and Removals - Active Livinq and Parks Commission The term of appointment for Tracy Broome "Northwest Cabarrus" area representative and John Parker "At- large" area representative expires January 31, 2016. Both Ms. Broome and Mr. Parker have served two consecutive terms and are not eligible to serve another term. The term of appointment for Chris Furr "Midland" area representative expires January 31, 2016. Mr. Furr is eligible and willing to serve another term. Applications have been received from Samantha Fisk and Michael Specht. Ms. Fisk is eligible to serve as an "Eastern" area representative and Mr. Specht is eligible to serve as an "At- large" area representative. Applications are still being accepted for the Northwest area. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and unanimously carried, the Board removed Tracy Broome and John Parker from the Active Living and Parks Commission roster and thanked them for their service. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Samantha Fisk to the Active hiving and Parks Commission as the "Eastern" area representative to complete an unexpired term ending January 31, 2017. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Michael Specht to the Active Living and Parks Commission as the "At- large" area representative for a three -year term ending January 31, 2019. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Chris Furr to the Active Living and Parks Commission as the "Midland" area representative for a three - year term ending January 31, 2019. (H -2) Appointments and Removals - Cabarrus County Youth Commission Joseph Muhonen from Concord High School has submitted an application to serve on the Cabarrus County Youth Commission. A letter of recommendation is attached. Kenya Banks from Cox Mill High School has asked to be removed from the Cabarrus County Youth Commission due to her inability to participate in scheduled meetings. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board removed Kenya Banks (Cox Mill High School) from the Cabarrus County Youth Commission roster and thanked her for her service.
