Commissioner Mynatt <br />seconded the motion. <br />Chairman Morris pointed out that part of the discussion included <br />potential recreational uses on the Reservoir. He advised it is unclear at <br />this time whether the permits for the construction of the Reservoir would <br />allow that or not. He further advised that would be more appropriately <br />handled by WSACC since they are currently charged with operation of the <br />Reservoir and the protection of our water supply. <br />The MOTION unanimously carried. <br />(H) APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS AND COMMITTEES <br />(H -L) Appointments - Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br />Maryam Kazempour's term on the Adult Care Home Community Advisory <br />Committee expired February 28th. She would like to serve another term. <br />Annette Swick's term on the Adult Care Home Community Advisory <br />Committee expires April 3C, 2016. She would like to serve another term. She <br />also serves on the Cabarrus County Senior Centers Advisory Council. An <br />exception to the "multiple service" provision of the Appointment Policy will <br />be needed for her. <br />Ed Burns' term on the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br />expires May 31, 2016. He would like to serve another term. He has served on <br />this committee since 2009. An exception to the "length of service" provision <br />will be needed for him. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Maryam Kazempour to the Adult <br />Care Home Community Advisory Committee for a three -year term ending February <br />28, 2019. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Annette Swick to the Adult Care <br />Home Community Advisory Committee for a three -year term ending April 30, <br />2019; including an exception to the "multiple service" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Ed Burns to the Adult Care Home <br />Community Advisory Committee for a three -year term ending May 31, 2019; <br />including an exception to the "length of service" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy. <br />(H -2) Appointments - Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br />Maryam Kazempour has submitted an application to serve on the Nursing <br />Home Community Advisory Committee. She also serves on the Adult Care Home <br />Community Advisory Committee. She is a graduate student at UNCC studying <br />gerontology and is seeking experience on both committees. The Regional <br />Ombudsman has expressed her support stating there is no issue with State <br />statutes or the Ombudsman Program policies. Ms. Kazempour has been a model <br />volunteer on the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee. An exception <br />to the "multiple service" provision of the Appointment Policy will be needed <br />for her. <br />Sylvia Currie - Johnson's term on the Nursing Home Community Advisory <br />Committee expires March 31st. She would like to serve another term. Ms. <br />Currie- Johnson has served on this committee since 2009. An exception to the <br />"length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy will be needed for <br />her. <br />Karen Thompson's term on the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br />ends April 30th. She would like to serve another term. Ms. Thompson has <br />also served on this committee since 2009. An exception to the "length of <br />service" provision of the Appointment Policy will be needed for her. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Poole seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Maryam Kazempour to the Nursing Home <br />Community Advisory Committee for an initial one -year term ending March 31, <br />2017; including an exception to the "multiple service" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy. <br />
