March 21, 2016 (Regular MeeCing) Page 2 688 <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Sylvia Currie - Johnson to the <br />Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee for a three -year term ending March <br />31, 2019; including an exception to the "length of service" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Karen Thompson to the Nursing <br />Home Community Advisory Committee for a three -year term ending April 3C, <br />2019; including an exception to the "length of service" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy. <br />(H -3) Appointments - Region F Aging Advisory Committee <br />Region F Aging Advisory Committee member Betty Barnhardt passed away on <br />December 24, 2015. She had served on the Committee since her appointment in <br />2014, and before that, volunteered on the Senior Centers Advisory Council <br />from 2008 to 2014. <br />Nancy Woodard is willing to serve as a delegate to fill the vacated <br />position. She is recommended for appointment by the Home and Community Care <br />Block Grant Committee. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Poole, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board removed Betty Barnhardt from the Region F <br />Aging Advisory Committee roster with special remembrance of her many years of <br />volunteer service to Cabarrus County. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Nancy Woodard to the Region F Aging <br />Advisory Committee to complete an unexpired term ending June 30, 2017. <br />(H--4) Appointments - Agricultural Advisory Board <br />Eddie Moose and Tommy Barbee serve on the Agriculture Advisory Board <br />and had terms that expired on January 31, 2016. Both have requested <br />reappointment for one additional three -year term, but an exception to the <br />"length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy would be needed for <br />them. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by vice Chairman Honeycutt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Eddie Moose and Tommy Barbee <br />to the Agriculture Advisory Board for three -year terms expiring January 31, <br />2019, including an exception to the "length of service" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy for Mr. Moose and Mr. Barbee. <br />I) REPORTS <br />(I -1) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Building Activity <br />The Board received the Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge <br />Report for February 2016 and the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan <br />Review Summary for February 2016 for informational purposes as part of the <br />Agenda. No action was required of the Board. <br />(I -2) County Manager - Monthly New Development Report <br />The Board received the monthly new development report for informational <br />purposes. No action was required of the Board. <br />(I -3) DHS - Quarterly Report <br />The Board received the quarterly report for the Department of Human <br />Services for the second quarter of FY 2016 for informational purposes. No <br />action was required of the Board. <br />(I -4) EDC - February 2016 Monthly Summary Report <br />The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) <br />monthly report for the month of February as part of the Agenda. No action <br />was required of the Board. <br />(I -5) Finance - Monthly Financial U2date <br />
