February 20, 2017 (Regular Meeting) Page 3026 <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br /> unanimously carried, the Board approved the Agenda as amended. <br /> (C) RECOGNITIONS AND PRESENTATIONS <br /> (C-1) Planning and Development - Cabarrus Soil and Water Conservation District <br /> Contest Recognitions <br /> Erin Lineberger, Resource Conservation Coordinator, recognized the <br /> contestants, their parents, family members and teachers for their support of <br /> the 2017 Cabarrus Soil and Water Annual Conservation Education Contests. She <br /> stated this year's theme is "Soil and Water: Yours for Life" and advised the <br /> winners will move on to regional contests and potentially the state level <br /> contests. The following participants were recognized: <br /> 3rd Grade Poster Contest <br /> 1st Place: Gavin Loftis, Jackson Park Elementary School <br /> 2nd place: Luke Poteat, Jackson Park Elementary School <br /> 3rd Place: Alahna White, Jackson Park Elementary School <br /> 4th Grade Poster Contest <br /> 15t Place: Jealyn McIntosh, Jackson Park Elementary School <br /> 2nd Place: Sophia Swindler, Carolina International School <br /> 3rd Place: Kiley Ramos, Carolina International School <br /> 5th Grade Poster Contest <br /> 1st Place: Emir Turkdamar, Patriots STEM Elementary School <br /> 2nd Place: Abigail Watson, Patriots STEM Elementary School <br /> 3rd Place. Pleasant Middle School <br /> 3rd Place: Avery Warren, Concord Middle School <br /> 8th Grade Public Speaking Contest <br /> 15t Place: Lorelei Linkel, NorthWest Cabarrus Middle School <br /> 3rd Place: Laila McMillan, CC Griffin Middle School <br /> (C-2) Human Resources - Recognition of James Bryant Kiser on His Retirement <br /> from Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services <br /> Alan Thompson, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) , Director, recognized <br /> Sergeant James Bryant Kiser on his upcoming retirement from his position as a <br /> paramedic field training officer with EMS. He highlighted a number of Sergeant <br /> Kiser' s accomplishments during his tenure with the county and presented a plaque <br /> to him in recognition of his 30 years of service to the citizens of Cabarrus <br /> County. <br /> Vice Chairman Honeycutt presented Sergeant Kiser with a service award in <br /> appreciation of his service and dedication to the citizens of Cabarrus County. <br /> Sergeant Kiser graciously accepted the award and expressed appreciation. <br /> (D) INFORMAL COMMENTS <br />
