February 20, 2017 (Regular Meeting) Page 3027 <br /> None. <br /> (E) OLD BUSINESS <br /> None. <br /> (F) CONSENT <br /> (F-1) CCS - Funding Request for Contingency to Cover Start-Up Costs for the <br /> Mount Pleasant Middle School Project <br /> Cabarrus County Schools (CCS) has submitted a $71, 164 . 00 funding request <br /> for the remaining portion of the start-up costs for the Mount Pleasant Middle <br /> School project. There is a shortfall in the currently approved funding for <br /> the start-up expenses. The $71, 164 .00 shortfall is requested to be funded from <br /> the Mount Pleasant Middle School contingency funds. The Mount Pleasant Middle <br /> School project has a $1,262, 000.00 balance of contingency funds set aside in <br /> the County' s Capital Reserve Fund. <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Kiger <br /> and unanimously carried, the Board approved the $71, 164 .00 start-up expense <br /> request for Mount Pleasant Middle School and authorized the Finance Director to <br /> prepare the appropriate budget revision and related Capital Project Ordinances. <br /> Note: The Budget Amendment and Project Ordinances for items F-1, F-2, F- <br /> 3, F-5, F-6 and F-7 have been combined and are reflected in Item F-7. <br /> (F-2) CCS - Funding Request for Royal Oaks Elementary School <br /> Cabarrus County Schools (CCS) has submitted a $472,250.00 request for the <br /> Royal Oaks Elementary School to fund start-up expenses ($207, 250. 00) , remaining <br /> construction by owner expenses ($50, 000.00) , remaining engineering <br /> ($55, 000.00) , and a change order for the Arts Magnet program <br /> ($160, 000.00) . The $472,250.00 is requested to be funded from the Capital <br /> Reserve Fund. <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Kiger <br /> and unanimously carried, the Board approved the $472,250.00 funding request for <br /> Royal Oaks Elementary School and authorized the Finance Director to prepare the <br /> appropriate budget revision and Capital Project Ordinances. <br /> Note: The Budget Amendment and Project Ordinances for items F-1, F-2, F- <br /> 3, F-5, F-6 and F-7 have been combined and are reflected in Item F-7. <br /> (F-3) CCS - Mount Pleasant Middle School Funding Transfer for Technology and <br /> Moving Expenses <br /> As Cabarrus County Schools (CCS) prepares to open Mount Pleasant Middle <br /> School in August 2017, the final Capital Reserve funding is needed for <br /> technology ($268,308.00) and moving ($50, 000.00) expenses. The funds were <br /> approved by the Commissioners during the FY17 budget process and have remained <br /> in the Capital Reserve Fund. <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Kiger <br /> and unanimously carried, the Board approved the transfer of technology <br /> ($268,308.00) and moving expenses ($50,000.00) from the Capital Reserve Fund to <br /> the Construction Debt Capital Project Fund for the Mount Pleasant Middle <br /> School project and authorized the Finance Director to prepare the appropriate <br /> budget revision and related Capital Project Ordinance. <br /> Note: The Budget Amendment and Project Ordinances for items F-1, F-2, F- <br /> 3, F-5, F-6 and F-7 have been combined and are reflected in Item F-7. <br /> (F-4) County Manager - Transfer of Cabarrus Business and Technology Center <br /> Property <br /> The County Attorney has completed the transfer documents for the Rowan- <br /> Cabarrus Community College (RCCC) Business and Technology Center property from <br /> the County to RCCC. There is a lease in place now and it was the County <br /> Attorney' s suggestion that the Board take action to cancel the lease concurrent <br /> with the transfer of the property. <br />
