June 15, 2015 (Regular Meeting) Page 2473 UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Cooper McAuley (Central Cabarrus High School) and Keely Curry (Central Cabarrus High School) to the Cabarrus County Youth Commission for two -year terms ending June 30, 2017. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Honeycutt and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Kayla Bollenbecker (Mount Pleasant High School), Nicholas Walker (Cox Mill High School), Kenya Banks (Cox Mill High School), Abby Moose (Northwest Cabarrus High School) and John Clay Maguire (At -large /Cannon School) to the Cabarrus County Youth Commission for two -year terms ending June 30, 2017. (H -3) Appointments - Centralina Workforce Development Board The terms of appointment for Lisa Conger "education" representative and Christopher Cote "organized labor" representative on the Centralina Workforce Development Board (CWDB) ends June 30, 2015. Both are willing to serve another term. An exception to the "residency" provision of the Appointment Policy will be needed for Ms. Conger. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Lisa Conger "Education" representative and Christopher Cote "Organized Labor" representative to the Centralina Workforce Development Board for two -year terms ending June 30, 2017; including an exception to the "residency" provision of the Appointment Policy for Ms. Conger. (H -4) Appointments - Harrisburg Fire Advisory Board Kenny Long and Graydon Choinski serve on the Harrisburg Fire Advisory Board and have terms expiring July 1, 2015. Both have indicated they are willing to be reappointed. If reappointed, Mr. Choinski will need an exception to the "length of service" provision in the Appointment Policy. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Kenny Long and Graydon Choinski to the Harrisburg Fire Advisory Board for two -year terms ending July 1, 2017; including an exception to the "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy for Mr. Choinski. (H -5) Appointments - Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board Lloyd Quay, Jr. serves on the Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board and has a term expiring June 30, 2015. He has indicated that he is willing to be reappointed. If reappointed, an exception to the "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy will be needed because Mr. Quay has been on the board since 1997. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Lloyd Quay, Jr. to the Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board for a three -year term ending June 30, 2018; including an exception to the "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy. (H -6) Appointments - Jury Commission Phyllis Crump's term on the Jury Commission expires June 30, 2015. She has served on the Jury Commission since 2001. She is willing to serve another term. There are currently two other applications on file. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Phyllis Crump to the Jury Commission for a two -year term ending June 30, 2017; including an exception to the "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy. (H--7) Appointments and Removals - Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) Marie Ramseur and Edie Moss (at- large) members have resigned from the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) . Also, the JCPC has also been notified from Raleigh that the "Police Chief (designee)" position must only be filled by a police chief and not a designee. "Student under 18" representatives Hunter Moore (CGS) and Cameron McKnight (KCS) graduate from high school this year. They will no longer be eligible for these positions.
