June 15, 2015 (Regular Meeting) Page 2473 <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Cooper McAuley (Central Cabarrus <br />High School) and Keely Curry (Central Cabarrus High School) to the Cabarrus <br />County Youth Commission for two -year terms ending June 30, 2017. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Honeycutt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Kayla Bollenbecker (Mount <br />Pleasant High School), Nicholas Walker (Cox Mill High School), Kenya Banks <br />(Cox Mill High School), Abby Moose (Northwest Cabarrus High School) and John <br />Clay Maguire (At -large /Cannon School) to the Cabarrus County Youth Commission <br />for two -year terms ending June 30, 2017. <br />(H -3) Appointments - Centralina Workforce Development Board <br />The terms of appointment for Lisa Conger "education" representative and <br />Christopher Cote "organized labor" representative on the Centralina Workforce <br />Development Board (CWDB) ends June 30, 2015. Both are willing to serve <br />another term. An exception to the "residency" provision of the Appointment <br />Policy will be needed for Ms. Conger. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Lisa Conger "Education" <br />representative and Christopher Cote "Organized Labor" representative to the <br />Centralina Workforce Development Board for two -year terms ending June 30, <br />2017; including an exception to the "residency" provision of the Appointment <br />Policy for Ms. Conger. <br />(H -4) Appointments - Harrisburg Fire Advisory Board <br />Kenny Long and Graydon Choinski serve on the Harrisburg Fire Advisory <br />Board and have terms expiring July 1, 2015. Both have indicated they are <br />willing to be reappointed. If reappointed, Mr. Choinski will need an <br />exception to the "length of service" provision in the Appointment Policy. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Kenny Long and Graydon Choinski to <br />the Harrisburg Fire Advisory Board for two -year terms ending July 1, 2017; <br />including an exception to the "length of service" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy for Mr. Choinski. <br />(H -5) Appointments - Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board <br />Lloyd Quay, Jr. serves on the Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board and <br />has a term expiring June 30, 2015. He has indicated that he is willing to be <br />reappointed. If reappointed, an exception to the "length of service" <br />provision of the Appointment Policy will be needed because Mr. Quay has been <br />on the board since 1997. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Lloyd Quay, Jr. to the <br />Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board for a three -year term ending June 30, <br />2018; including an exception to the "length of service" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy. <br />(H -6) Appointments - Jury Commission <br />Phyllis Crump's term on the Jury Commission expires June 30, 2015. She <br />has served on the Jury Commission since 2001. She is willing to serve <br />another term. There are currently two other applications on file. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Phyllis Crump to the Jury <br />Commission for a two -year term ending June 30, 2017; including an exception <br />to the "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy. <br />(H--7) Appointments and Removals - Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) <br />Marie Ramseur and Edie Moss (at- large) members have resigned from the <br />Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) . Also, the JCPC has also been <br />notified from Raleigh that the "Police Chief (designee)" position must only <br />be filled by a police chief and not a designee. <br />"Student under 18" representatives Hunter Moore (CGS) and Cameron <br />McKnight (KCS) graduate from high school this year. They will no longer be <br />eligible for these positions. <br />
