August 17, 2015 (Regular Meeting) Page 2529 <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Richard Price to the Cabarrus <br />County Planning and Zoning Commission as the "Midland Area" representative <br />for a three -year term ending August 31, 2018. <br />(H -4) Appointments and Removals - Library Board of Trustees <br />Brenda Trott has served on the Cabarrus County Library Board of <br />Trustees for two terms, spanning from July 20, 2009 to July 31, 2015. <br />To fill the vacancy Mrs. Trott leaves behind, an application is on file <br />from Candelaria "Candie" Leyvas who is eligible to represent the Kannapolis <br />area on the Library Board of Trustees. Mrs. Leyvas has been a dedicated <br />library patron and Friend of the Library for many years, as well as a tutor <br />for the Cabarrus Literacy Council. Mrs. Leyvas resides in Rowan County. An <br />exception to the "residency" provision of the Appointment Policy would be <br />needed for her. <br />Martha Dobson's term expires on July 31, 2015. Ms. Dobson serves as the <br />Mount Pleasant area representative and is willing to serve another term. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board removed Brenda Trott from the Library Board of <br />Trustees roster and thanked her for her many years of service. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Candelaria Leyvas to the Library <br />Board of Trustees and the "Kannapolis" representative for a three -year term <br />ending July 31, 2015; including an exception to the "residency" provision of <br />the Appointment Policy. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Martha Dobson to the Library <br />Board of Trustees for a three -year term ending July 31, 2018. <br />(H-5) =ointments and Removals - Human Services Advisory Board <br />A resignation has been received from Mary Stewart, who due to other <br />obligations, is no longer able to serve on the Human Services Advisory Board. <br />It is requested to remove her name from the roster and to appoint an <br />individual to complete her unexpired term. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Honeycutt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board removed Mary Stewart from the Human <br />Services Advisory Board roster and thanked her for her service. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Anne Laukaitis to the Human Services <br />Advisory Board to complete an unexpired term ending December 31, 2015. <br />(H -6) Appointments - Cabarrus County Youth Commission <br />The Cabarrus County Youth Commission has received applications for <br />vacant positions, and is recommending approval for the following <br />appointments: <br />Michael Coward - A.L. Brown High School <br />Lauren Trull - A.L. Brown High School <br />Alonnah Murphy - Northwest Cabarrus High School <br />Danika Ng - Hickory Ridge High School <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Michael Coward (A.L. Brown High <br />School), Laruen Trull (A.L. Brown High School), Alonnah Murphy (Northwest <br />Cabarrus High School) and Danika Ng (Hickory Ridge High School) to the <br />Cabarrus County Youth Commission for two -year terms ending June 30, 2017. <br />(1) REPORTS <br />(I -1) Cardinal Innovations Healthcare Solutions - Annual Report of Funding <br />and Services for Cabarrus County <br />The Board received the Cardinal Innovations Solutions Annual Report of <br />Funding and Services for Cabarrus County for informational purposes as part <br />of the Agenda. No action was required of the Board. <br />
