April 21, 2014 (Regular Meeting) Page 1991 <br />County Assembly Day, a resolution amending the meeting schedule will need to <br />be adopted. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Oesterreich, seconded by Vice Chairman <br />Burrage and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution: <br />Resolution No. 2014 -05 <br />RESOLUTION AMENDING THE <br />CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS' <br />MEETING SCHEDULE <br />FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2014 <br />WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners adopted its 2014 <br />Meeting Schedule in December 2013; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2014 Meeting Schedule established the meeting dates for <br />work sessions, regular meetings, conferences, annual retreat, etc. <br />WHEREAS, the 2014 Meeting Schedule set budget workshop meetings on May <br />27, 28, & 29, 2014; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2014 Meeting Schedule set County Assembly Day as May 28, <br />2014; and <br />WHEREAS, due to this scheduling conflict, the Board desires to cancel <br />its budget workshop meeting on May 28, 2014 and will address such business at <br />its other May budget workshop meetings and June work session meeting; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners, does hereby amend its 2014 Meeting Schedule to cancel the <br />budget workshop meeting on May 28, 2014. <br />Adopted this the 21' day of April, 2014. <br />/s/ Elizabeth F. Poole, Chairman <br />Board of Commissioners <br />Attest: <br />/s/ Megan Smit <br />Megan Smit, Clerk to the Board <br />(F -2) County Manager - Involuntary Commitment Transport Services - G4S <br />Secure Solutions <br />Carolina Healthcare System (CHS) and G4S Secure Solutions have <br />requested the Board of Commissioners to adopt a resolution to approve a plan <br />supporting private provider for involuntary commitment transport services. <br />CHA has contracted with G4S Secure Solutions to provide this service within <br />CHS facilities. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Oesterreich, seconded by Vice Chairman <br />Burrage and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution: <br />Resolution No. 2014 -06 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF <br />COMMISSIONERS ADOPTING A PLAN SUPPORTING PRIVATE PROVIDER <br />INVOLUNTARY COMMITMENT TRANSPORT SERVICES <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. §122C- 251(a), Cabarrus County has <br />a duty to provide, through its law enforcement officers, transportation under <br />the involuntary commitment proceedings of Article 5 of Chapter 122C of the <br />North Carolina General Statutes; and <br />WHEREAS, N.C. Gen. Stat. §122C- 251(g) provides that the Board of <br />Commissioners of the County may adopt a plan for the transportation of <br />respondents in involuntary commitment proceedings and that private agency <br />personnel may be designated to provide all or part of the transportation <br />required by such proceedings; and <br />WHEREAS, N.C. Gen. Stat. §122C- 251(8) further provides that persons <br />designated in the plan to provide transportation shall be trained and the <br />plan shall assure adequate safety and protections for both the public and the <br />respondent; and <br />
