UPON MOTION of Commissioner Oesterreich, seconded by Vice Chairman Burrage and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution: Resolution No. 2014 -05 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS' MEETING SCHEDULE FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2014 WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners adopted its 2014 Meeting Schedule in December 2013; and WHEREAS, the 2014 Meeting Schedule established the meeting dates for work sessions, regular meetings, conferences, annual retreat, etc. WHEREAS, the 2014 Meeting Schedule set budget workshop meetings on May 27, 28, & 29, 2014; and WHEREAS, the 2014 Meeting Schedule set County Assembly Day as May 28, 2014; and WHEREAS, due to this scheduling conflict, the Board desires to cancel its budget workshop meeting on May 28, 2014 and will address such business at its other May budget workshop meetings and June work session meeting; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners, does hereby amend its 2014 Meeting Schedule to cancel the budget workshop meeting on May 28, 2014. Poole, Chairman Board of Commissioners Attest: /s/ Megan Smit Megan Smit, Clerk to the Board (F -2) County Manager - Involuntary Commitment Transport Services - G4S Secure Solutions Carolina Healthcare System (CHS) and G4S Secure Solutions have requested the Board of Commissioners to adopt a resolution to approve a plan supporting private provider for involuntary commitment transport services. CHA has contracted with G4S Secure Solutions to provide this service within CHS facilities. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Oesterreich, seconded by Vice Chairman Burrage and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution: Resolution No. 2014 -06 RESOLUTION OF THE CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ADOPTING A PLAN SUPPORTING PRIVATE PROVIDER INVOLUNTARY COMMITMENT TRANSPORT SERVICES WHEREAS, pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. §122C- 251(a), Cabarrus County has a duty to provide, through its law enforcement officers, transportation under the involuntary commitment proceedings of Article 5 of Chapter 122C of the North Carolina General Statutes; and WHEREAS, N.C. Gen. Stat. §122C- 251(g) provides that the Board of Commissioners of the County may adopt a plan for the transportation of respondents in involuntary commitment proceedings and that private agency personnel may be designated to provide all or part of the transportation required by such proceedings; and WHEREAS, N.C. Gen. Stat. §122C- 251(8) further provides that persons designated in the plan to provide transportation shall be trained and the plan shall assure adequate safety and protections for both the public and the respondent; and
