Information on registering for <br />Government 101 can be found on the county's website <br />www.cabarruscountv.us /news- events /Paves /County- Government- 10l.asox. <br />(C -2) Cooperative Extension - Recognition of Youth Council Graduating <br />Seniors <br />Robert Furr, Cooperative Extension Director, presented a description of <br />the Youth Council activities and recognized the following graduating seniors <br />from the Cabarrus County Youth Council: <br />Stephen Larson (Youth Council Chair) - Cox Mill High School <br />Harrison Allen - Mount Pleasant High School <br />Kettyl Amoakon - Cabarrus County Early College <br />Nicholas McNiffe - Jay M. Robinson High School <br />Brianna Misenheimer - Hickory Ridge High School <br />Leslie Porfeli - Jay M. Robinson High School <br />Continuing Youth Council members, Michael Walker, Vice Chair - Cox Mill <br />High School, Keely Curry, Secretary - Central Cabarrus High School and Sophia <br />Politis - Hickory Ridge High School were in attendance and were also <br />recognized. <br />Stephen Larson, Youth Council Chair, presented an update on the <br />Council's activities and plans for the future. In appreciation, Council <br />members presented pastries to the Board. <br />(C -3) hlanninq and Development - Soil and Water Conservation District - <br />Recognition of Reoional and State Winners in Conservation Contests <br />Sarah Piper, Resource Conservation Coordinator, stated conservation <br />education is one of four strategic priorities for Cabarrus Soil and Water <br />Conservation District. The District has a long and proud history of <br />conservation education accomplishments. During the District's 50th <br />anniversary year celebration, 3 individual students and 3 teams advanced to <br />state -level conservation contests. In the 23 -year history of the contest, <br />this year was the fourth time a Cabarrus County student has received first <br />place at the state level in the conservation poster contest.
