December 15, 20I4 (Regular Meeting) Page 2237 <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Honeycutt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to fund the aforementioned items in <br />the amount of $2,066,294.00 once the annual audit has been received, and to <br />authorize staff to move forward with this budget amendment once the audit has <br />been approved. <br />APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS AND COMMITTEES <br />(H -1) Appointments - Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br />An application has been received from Avie Banks to serve on the Adult <br />Care Home Community Advisory Committee. She has been prequalified by Laurie <br />Abounader, Regional Ombudsman, and is recommended for an initial one -year <br />appointment. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Avie Banks to the Adult Care Home <br />Community Advisory Committee for a one -year term ending December 31, 2015. <br />(H--2) Appointments and Removals -- Active Living and Parks Commission <br />At the November 20, 2014 meeting, the Active Living and Parks <br />Commission voted to recommend the appointment of Robin Phillips and Kevin <br />Bryant to the Active Living and Parks Commission for three -year terms ending <br />January 31, 2018. The Commission also recommends the reappointments of <br />Martha Macon, Danita Rickard, and Mike Kirby to the Active Living and Parks <br />Commission for three -year terms ending January 31, 2018. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Honeycutt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board removed Gina Lowery, Donnie Broome and <br />Blake Kiger from the Active Living and Parks Commissioner roster and thanked <br />them for their service. By the same motion, the Board appointed Robin <br />Phillips and Kevin Bryant to the Active Living and Parks Commission for <br />three -year termed ending January 31, 2016; and reappointed Martha Macon, <br />Danita Rickard and Mike Kirby to the Active Living and Parks Commission for <br />three -year terms ending January 31, 2018. <br />(H -3) Appointments and Removals - Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning <br />f`nmmi mci nn <br />James Litaker has resigned from the Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning <br />Commission effective November 4, 2014. He represented the Kannapolis area <br />and has moved out of that jurisdiction. <br />Robin Torrence was appointed to the Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning <br />Commission in September 2014 as an Alternate representative. He is unable to <br />serve due to a conflict. <br />An application has been received from Adam Dagenhart. He is <br />recommended to fill the Alternate position being vacated by Mr. Torrence. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board removed James Litaker and Robin Torrence from <br />the Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission roster. By the same <br />motion, the Board appointed Adam Dagenhart to the Cabarrus County Planning <br />and Zoning Commission as an Alternate representative to complete an unexpired <br />term ending August 31, 2016. <br />(H -4) Appointments and Removals - Cabarrus County Senior Centers Advisory <br />('rmnrri 1 <br />At the November 17, 2014 meeting, the Cabarrus County Senior Centers <br />Advisory Council reviewed applications for Charles Mitchell, Rod Campany, <br />Sherman Childers, Gail Linker, Dianna Long (determined to be out of County) , <br />Jean Chandler, Barbara Burrage, O'Lynda Walker, and Vincent Polidori. The <br />Executive Committee was made aware that the Board of Commissioners wanted to <br />see new members on boards and commissions and to see better representation <br />from Kannapolis. <br />The Executive committee recommended the appointment of Rod Campany, <br />Jean Chandler, Sherman Childers and Gail Linker to three -year terms ending <br />December 31, 2017. The Senior Centers Advisory Council approved the <br />recommendation. <br />
