December 15, 2014 (Regular Meeting) Page 2238 <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board removed Betty Barnhardt, Ann Eaves, Michael <br />Plowman and O'Lynda Walker from the Cabarrus County Senior Centers Advisory <br />Council roster and thanked them for their service. By the same motion, the <br />Board appointed Rod Campany, Sherman Childers, Gail Linker and Charles <br />Mitchell to the Cabarrus County Senior Centers Advisory Council for three - <br />year terms ending December 31, 2017. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I--1) Cabarrus County Tourism Authority - FY 2014 Year End Financials <br />The Board received the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority FY 2014 Year <br />End Financials report as part of the Agenda. No action was required of the <br />Board. <br />(1 -2) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Building Activity <br />The Board received the Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge <br />Report for November 2014 and the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan <br />Review Summary for November 2014 for informational purposes as part of the <br />Agenda. No action was required of the Board. <br />(I -3) DHS - Quarterly Report <br />The Board received the Department of Human Services quarterly report as <br />part of the Agenda. No action was required of the Board. <br />(I -4) DHS - Transportation - Quarterly Report <br />The Board received the Department of Human Services Transportation <br />quarterly report as part of the Agenda. No action was required of the Board. <br />(I -5) EDC - November 2014 Monthly Summary Report <br />The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) <br />monthly report for the month of November as part of the Agenda. No action <br />was required of the Board. <br />(I -6) SOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons to <br />Municipalities or on Various Boards /Committees <br />None. <br />(I -7) Request for Applications for County Boards /Committees <br />Applications are being accepted for the following County <br />Boards /Committees: <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 6 Vacant Positions <br />• Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission - 1 Vacant Position <br />• Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) - I Vacant Position <br />• Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority - I <br />Expired Term and 2 Vacant Positions <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council - 3 Vacant Positions <br />• Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee - 6 Vacant Positions <br />• Senior Centers Advisory Council - 4 Terms Expiring Soon <br />• Transportation Advisory Board - 7 Vacant Positions <br />• Youth Council - 7 Vacant Positions <br />Chairman Morris reviewed the aforementioned list and urged citizens to <br />consider participating on a Board or Committee. <br />(J) GENERAL COMMENTS BY BOARD MEMBERS <br />Chairman Morris announced it was Commissioner Mynatt's birthday and <br />wished her a happy birthday. <br />Vice Chairman Poole recognized Leadership Cabarrus participants in the <br />audience. She also requested the County Attorney to further look into the <br />topic of sludge, as addressed by citizens during public comments. Vice <br />Chairman Poole also advised of pocket CPR devices, purchased with grant funds <br />and supplied to thirty -seven of the Sheriff's deputies. She expressed <br />preference that the pocket CPR devices be considered in the FY16 budget. <br />
