April 15, 2013 (Regular Meeting) Page 1515 <br />(H -3) Appointments - Home and Community Care Block Grant (HCCBG) Advisory <br />Committee <br />An application has been received from Mary Wittmann to serve on the <br />Home and Community Care Block Grant (HCCBG) Advisory Committee. At its March <br />18, 2013 meeting, the HCCBG voted to recommend Ms. Wittmann to fill the <br />vacant "Consumer" position. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman White, seconded by Commissioner Burrage <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Mary Wittmann to the Home and <br />Community Care Block Grant (HCCBG) Advisory Committee to complete an <br />unexpired term ending December 31, 2013 and an additional 2 -year term ending <br />December 31, 2015 as a "Consumer' representative. <br />(H -4) Appointments - Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br />According to the Regional Ombudsman, Sylvia Currie - Johnson, Karen <br />Gabbert and LeRoy Deabler wish to be reappointed to the Nursing Home <br />Community Advisory Committee. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Measmer, seconded by Vice Chairman White <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Sylvia Currie - Johnson to the <br />Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee for a three -year term ending March <br />31, 2016. By the same motion, the Board reappointed Karen Gabbert and LeRoy <br />Deabler to the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee for three -year terms <br />ending April 30, 2016. <br />(H -5) Appointments and Removals - Food Policy Council (FPC) <br />Appointments are needed for the FPC. Several members had terms which <br />expired on December 31, 2012. The members with expired terms are: Jane <br />Henderson "Food Production ", Kate Brun "Food Production" and Audy Dover "Food <br />Distribution ". <br />Megan Poole's term also expired December 31, 2012. She is interested <br />in serving another term as a "Medical Industry' representative. <br />Tina Farmer "Medical Industry" has relocated to another community and <br />cannot serve out the remainder of her term. <br />The following individuals are recommended for appointment to replace <br />these outgoing members: Erin Bayer "Medical Industry ", Brenda Johnson "Food <br />Production ", Lynn MacDougall - Fleming "Food Production" and Frank Fiorella <br />"Food Distribution ". <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman White, seconded by Commissioner Burrage <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Brenda Johnson "Food <br />Poroduction ", Lynn MacDougall- Fleming "Food Production" and Frank Fiorella <br />"Food Distribution" to the Food Policy Council for three -year terms ending <br />December 31, 2015. <br />Chairman Poole disclosed Megan Poole is her daughter. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman White, seconded by Commissioner Burrage <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Megan Poole "Medical Industry" <br />to the Food Policy Council for a three -year term ending December 31, 2015. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman White, seconded by Commissioner Measmer <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Erin Bayer "Medical Industry" to <br />complete an unexpired term ending December 31, 2013. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman White, seconded by Commissioner Measmer <br />and unanimously carried, the Board removed Jane Henderson, Kate Brun, Audy <br />Dover and Tina Farmer from the Food Policy Council (FPC) roster and thanked <br />them for their service. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I -1) EDC - EDC Quarterly Report for January 1, - March 31, 2013 <br />The Board received the EDC (Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation) <br />quarterly report for the period of January 1 - March 31, 2013 for <br />informational purposes as part of the Agenda. <br />The report included the following information: <br />
