<br />Following the vote, Chairman Poole requested clarification from Mr.
<br />Witke regarding cafeteria furniture at Concord High School.
<br />Mr. Witke advised the expected delivery of the cafeteria furniture to
<br />be in February. In response to Vice Chairman White, Mr. Witke stated the
<br />QSCB bidding process was the reason behind the delay.
<br />Chairman Poole requested clarification regarding the tennis courts at
<br />Concord High School. She advised of parents reporting that the plans
<br />submitted to the board by the schools were different than the ones initially
<br />presented to school administrative staff.
<br />Mr. Witke responded the proposal from the parents was not presented to
<br />him, but received by his instead. He stated his assistant went on vacation
<br />and later fell ill, which prevented Mr. Witke's receipt of the proposal.
<br />Chairman Poole asked when he planned to have a meeting. Mr. Witke
<br />stated he plans to meet in January as soon as people are available. A brief
<br />discussion ensued.
<br />(H) APPOINTMENTS
<br />(H -1) Appointments - Firemen's Relief Fund Trustees
<br />The following trustees request to be reappointed to serve as Firemen's
<br />Relief Fund Trustees for two -year terms ending January 31, 2015: Mike
<br />Faggart (Allen), David Blackwelder (Cold Water), Ken Nickles (Flowes Store),
<br />Kelly Whitley (Georgeville), Clyde Kuntz (Midland), Michael Gatton
<br />(Mt.Mitchell), Rick Burleyson (Mt. Pleasant Rural), Richard V. Bergeron, II
<br />(North East), Dan Brown (Odell), William L. Simmons (Rimer). The North East
<br />VFD requests that Rick Earnhardt be appointed to fill the vacant term since
<br />the department did not participate in 2012.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Measmer
<br />and unanimously carried, the board reappointed Mike Faggart (Allen) , David
<br />Blackwelder (Cold Water), Ken Nickles (Flowes Store), Kelly Whitley
<br />(Georgeville), Clyde Kuntz (Midland), Michael Gatton (Mt.Mitchell), Rick
<br />Burleyson (Mt. Pleasant Rural) , Richard V. Bergeron, II (North East) , Dan
<br />Brown (Odell), William L. Simmons (Rimer), to serve as Firemen's Relief Fund
<br />Trustees for two -year terms ending January 31, 2015. By the same vote, the
<br />Board also appointed Rick Earnhardt to fill the vacant North East term,
<br />January 31, 2012 - January 31, 2014, due to North East VFD not participating
<br />in 2012.

<br />(I -1) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Building Activity
<br />The board received the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan Review
<br />Summary for October 2012, Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge Report
<br />for October 2012 and Estimated Cost by Month for Building Permits Issued
<br />Between January 1, 2007 - December 31, 2012 for informational purposes as
<br />part of the Agenda. No action was required of the board.
