April 19, 2010 (Regular Meeting) Page 1879 <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following proclamation: <br />Proclamation No. 2010-05 <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />North Carolina <br />P R O C L A M A T I O N <br />WHEREAS, emergency medical services is a vital public service; and <br />WHEREAS, the members of emergency medical services teams are ready to <br />provide lifesaving care to those in need 24 hours a day, seven <br />days a week; and <br />WHEREAS, access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the <br />survival and recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness <br />or injury; and <br />WHEREAS, emergency medical services teams consist of emergency physicians, <br />emergency nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, <br />firefighters, educators, administrators, and others; and <br />approximately two-thirds of all emergency medical services <br />providers are volunteers; and <br />WHEREAS, the members of emergency medical services teams, whether career <br />or volunteer, engage in thousands of hours of specialized <br />training and continuing education enhance their lifesaving <br />skills; and <br />WHEREAS, Americans benefit daily from the knowledge and skills of these <br />highly trained individuals; and <br />WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the value and the accomplishments <br />of emergency medical services providers by designating Emergency <br />Medical Services Week; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners, in recognition of this event do hereby proclaim the week of <br />May 16 - 22, 2010, as <br />CABARRUS COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES WEEK <br />Adopted this 19th day of April, 2010. <br />/s/ H. Specific line item adjustments are detailed on the following budget <br />amendment. Head: Susan Fearrington Department: Finance - Capital Reserve Fund <br />^ Internal Transfer Within Department ^ Transfer Between Departments/Funds Q Supplemental Request <br />Purpose: This budget amendment 1) increases the revenue budgets to match the actual interest and <br />donation amounts collected, 2) adjust the amount to be contributed from Capital Projects by a net <br />reduction of $566,972.20 (increase of $223,189.46 from the School Construction fund for the close <br />out of the Bus Garage Construction and a decrease of $789,661.66 from the Sheriff's <br />
