January 20, 2009 (Regular Meeting) <br />Page 1213 <br />/s/ Kay Honeycutt <br />Kay Honeycutt <br />Clerk to the Board of Commissioners <br />(H) APPOINTMENTS <br />(H-1) Appointments - Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br />Jerry Shinn has completed the required training and initial one-year <br />term on the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee which ended December <br />31, 2008. He is willing to serve another term and is eligible for <br />reappointment. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Jerry Shinn to the Adult Care <br />Home Community Advisory Committee for a three-year term ending on December, <br />31, 2011. <br />(H-2) Appointments - Criminal Justice Partnership Program <br />An appointment is needed to fill the following positions on the CJPP <br />advisory Board: District Attorney/designee, business community, <br />probation/parole, community-based corrections program and victim of crime. <br />In addition, Benjamin Small currently serves in the Criminal Defense Attorney <br />position and has expressed a desire to serve another term. He is eligible <br />for reappointment. Jodi Ramirez currently serves on the Transportation <br />advisory Board; therefore, an exception to the appointment policy is <br />requested. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Mynatt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board accepted the resignation of Marie Stegall <br />and appointed/reappointed the following individuals to the CJPP as presented: <br />Name Position Term <br />Tom Barcellona District 9-30-10 <br /> Attorney/Designee <br />David Collins Business Community Complete unexpired term ending 9-30-09 <br /> and subsequent 2-year term ending 9- <br /> 30-11 <br />Susan Schneider Victim of Crime Complete unexpired term ending 4-30-10 <br />David Calloway Probation/Parole 9-30-10 <br />Benjamin Small Criminal Def. 9-30-10 <br /> Attorney <br />June Menig Community Service Complete unexpired term ending 4-30-10 <br /> Coord. <br />Jodi Ramirez Community-based 9-30-10* <br /> Correction Program <br />*Exception to Appointment Policy. <br />(H-3) Appointments - Department of Aging Advisory Board <br />The Department of Aging Advisory Board recommends the appointment of <br />Ann Eaves to serve a three-year term ending December 31, 2011. Ms. Eaves <br />will replace Jenoal Blackwelder whose term expired December 31, 2008. <br />Although Ms. Blackwelder is eligible to be reappointed, she has declined to <br />be recommended for another term. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Ann Eaves to the Department of <br />Aging Advisory Board to serve a three-year term ending December 31, 2011 as <br />recommended by the Department of Aging Advisory Board. <br />(H-4) Appointments - Juvenile Crime Prevention Council <br />According to the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) Chair, <br />Carolyn Carpenter, Betty Crump intends to resign her at-large position on the <br />Committee and that the Committee recommends the appointment of Edie Moss to <br />complete Ms. Crump's unexpired term ending June, 30, 2010. <br />In addition, an appointment is needed to replace Zachary Taylor who <br />fills one of the "student under 18" positions. The Committee recommends the <br />appointment of Fantasia Piedra, a senior at Hickory Ridge High School, to <br />complete an unexpired term ending September 30, 2009. <br />
