May 18, 2009 (Regular Meeting) <br />Page 1384 <br />The JCPC also recommends the removal of District Attorney/Designee <br />appointee Ben Golf from the roster. Mr. Darrin Gamradt has been approved by <br />the committee to fill this unexpired term. An exception to the residency <br />provision of the appointment policy will be needed for Mr. Gamradt. <br />Also, the JCPC recommends the appointment of Mr. Luke Szabo as the <br />Sheriff's Department Designee to fill an unexpired term left vacant by Mr. <br />John Wilson. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Poole and <br />unanimously carried, the Board accepted Ms. Bost's resignation and removed <br />her, Mr. Ben Goff (District Attorney/Designee), and Mr. John Wilson <br />(Sheriff/Designee) from the JCPC roster. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Mynatt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Ms. Marta Meares as an At-Large <br />appointee to fill an unexpired term ending September 30, 2009 and appointed <br />Mr. Luke Szabo as the Sheriff/Designee to fill an unexpired term ending on <br />September 30, 2010. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Mynatt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board granted an exception to the residency <br />provision of the Appointment Policy and appointed Mr. Darrin Gamradt as the <br />District Attorney/Designee to fill an unexpired term ending June 30, 2010. <br />(H-5) Appointments - Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br />Ms. Debi Lee, Lead Regional Long Term Care Ombudsman, requests that Ms. <br />Margie Norris be removed from the roster of the Nursing Home Community <br />Advisory Committee due to failure to complete the required orientation and <br />training. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Poole and <br />unanimously carried, the Board removed Ms. Margie Norris from the Nursing <br />Home Community Advisory Committee roster for failure to complete the required <br />orientation and training. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I-1) Request for Applications for County Boards/Committees <br />Applications are being accepted for the following <br />Boards/Committees: <br />County <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br />• Animal Preservation and Protection Advisory Committee <br />• Cabarrus Planning and Zoning Commission <br />• Centralina Workforce Development Board <br />• Concord Planning and Commission (ETJ) <br />• Criminal Justice Partnership Advisory Board <br />• Harrisburg Fire Advisory Board <br />• Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) <br />• Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority <br />• Jury Commission <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council <br />• Library Board of Trustees <br />• Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br />• Public Health Authority of Cabarrus County <br />• Region F Aging Advisory Committee <br />• Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Board of Trustees <br />• Social Services Board (Appointed by the Social Services Board) <br />• Tourism Authority <br />• Transportation Advisory Board <br />(I-2) Cabarrus County Tourism Authority - 3Yfl Quarter 2008/2009 Update <br />Financial reports were included in <br />information.
