Pleasant, and Harrisburg, and the City of Locust, subject to review by <br />the County Attorney. <br />(F-4) EMS - Proclamation Declaring the Week of May 17e' as Cabarrus County <br />Emergency Medical Services Week <br />The following proclamation designates the week of May 17 - 23, 2009 as <br />"Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services Week". <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following proclamation: <br />Proclamation No. 2009-06 <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />North Carolina <br />P R O C LAMA T I O N <br />WHEREAS, emergency medical services is a vital public service; and <br />WHEREAS, the members of emergency medical services teams are ready to <br />provide lifesaving care to those in need 29 hours a day, seven <br />days a week; and <br />WHEREAS, access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the <br />survival and recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness <br />or injury; and <br />WHEREAS, emergency medical services teams consist of emergency physicians, <br />emergency nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, <br />firefighters, educators, administrators, and others; and <br />approximately two-thirds of all emergency medical services <br />providers are volunteers; and <br />WHEREAS, the members of emergency medical services teams, whether career <br />or volunteer, engage in thousands of hours of specialized <br />training and continuing education enhance their lifesaving <br />skills; and <br />WHEREAS, Americans benefit daily from the knowledge and skills of these <br />highly trained individuals; and <br />WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the value and the accomplishments <br />of emergency medical services providers by designating Emergency <br />Medical Services Week; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners, in recognition of this event do hereby proclaim the week of <br />May 17 - 23, 2009, as <br />CABARRUS COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES WEEK <br />This 18t" day of May, 2009. <br />/s/ H. Kay Honeycutt, Clerk to the Board <br />(F-5) Finance - Budget Amendment - (Special Revenue Funds - $1,751,870.00) <br />This budget amendment is to appropriate additional revenue for the <br />following special revenue funds: Fund 960 - Special Projects; Eund 461 - <br />Sheriff's Office Special Projects; Fund 462 - Adequate Facilities Fund; Fund <br />532 - Department of Aging; and Fund 534 - Library. This budget amendment is <br />appropriating revenue for interest income, fees, and contributions and <br />private donations that have already been collected through March as well as <br />what is anticipated to be collected for the remainder of the fiscal year. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment: <br />Date: 9/7/2009 Amount: $1,751,870.00 <br />
