(H) APPOINTMENTS (H-1) Appointments - Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee An application to the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee (CAC) has been received from Ms. Mary Ramsey and approved by the regional Ombudsman. Although Ms. Ramsey's first choice is to serve on the Nursing Home CAC, it is recommended that she be appointed to the Adult Care CAC which currently has the greatest membership needs. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Mynatt and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Ms. Mary Ramsey to the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee for a one-year term ending June 30, 2010. (H-2) Appointments - Cabarrus County Public Health Authority An application to the Cabarrus Public Health Authority has been received from Dr. Walter Vuchnich. William Pilkington, Public Health Director, recommends Dr. Vuchnich be appointed to the Authority. Mr. Charles Phillips and Ms. Jessica Castrodale both wish to be reappointed to the Cabarrus County Public Health Authority and also have the recommendation of the Public Health Director. The term of appointment for Dr. Jonathan Zsambeky expires June 30, 2009 and he does not desire reappointment at this time. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Poole, seconded by Vice Chairman Mynatt and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Mr. Charles Phillips and Ms. Jessica Castrodale and appointed Dr. Walter Vuchnich to the Cabarrus County Public Health Authority for three-year terms ending June 30, 2012, including an exception to the "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy for Mr. Phillips. (H-3) Appointments - Centralina Workforae Development Board David Hollars, Executive Director of the Centralina Workforce Development Board, requests the reappointment of Mr. Thomas Goedeke and Ms. Pat Woods to the board when their terms expire on June 30, 2009. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Poole, seconded by Commissioner Carruth and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Mr. Thomas Goedeke and Ms. Pat Woods to the Centralina Workforce Development Board for two-year terms ending June 30, 2011. (H-4) Appointments - Harrisburg Fire Advisory Board The term of appointment for Ms. Shannon Wright-Elmore on the Harrisburg Fire Advisory Board ends July 1, 2009. She is willing to serve another term. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Poole and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Ms. Shannon Wright-Elmore to the Harrisburg Fire Advisory Board for a two-year term ending July 1, 2011. (H-5) Appointments - Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Board (ETJ) The term of appointment for Lloyd L. Quay, Jr. ends June 30, 2009. Mr. Quay has served on the Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Commission since 1997 as the County appointee. Appointees to this position must reside in the ETJ (Extra Territorial Jurisdiction) of the Town of Harrisburg. Mr. Quay was contacted and is willing to serve again. There are several applications on file; however, none of the applicants reside in the Harrisburg ETJ and are therefore ineligible to serve on this board. UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Carruth and unanimously carried, the Board made an exception to the "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy and reappointed Mr. Lloyd Quay, Jr. to the Harrisburg Planning and Zoning Commission for a three-year term ending June 30, 2012.
