<br />WHEREAS, scheduling conflicts associated with the New Years Day
<br />holiday, necessitates a change in the agenda work session meeting date in
<br />January 2010; and
<br />WHEREAS, the Independence Day and the Labor Day holidays requires a
<br />change in the agenda work session meeting dates in July and September 2010;
<br />and
<br />WHEREAS, the Board holds an annual goal-setting/planning retreat in the
<br />winter which is tentatively scheduled for February 26-27 at Camp T. N.
<br />Spencer; and
<br />WHEREAS, budget workshops are held annually and are tentatively
<br />scheduled for May 25, 26 and 27, 2010, from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. in the
<br />Multipurpose Room at the Governmental Center; and
<br />WHEREAS, the Board may attend the following conferences/gatherings and
<br />desires to give the public ample notice:
<br />• NACo Legislative Conference in Washington, DC on March 6-10, 2010;
<br />• NCACC County Assembly Day in Raleigh, NC on May 19
<br />• NACo Annual Conference in Reno, NV on July 16 - 20, 2010;
<br />• NCACC Annual Conference in Greenville, NC on August 26-29, 2010;
<br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 153A-26 requires that the Board
<br />hold an organizational meeting the first Monday in December for each even
<br />numbered year; and
<br />WHEREAS, on the first Monday in December of even numbered years, it is
<br />customary to hold a reception and swearing-in ceremony at the Governmental
<br />Center honoring incoming and outgoing elected officials prior to the
<br />commencement of the organizational meeting; and
<br />WHEREAS, the organizational meeting will be held in the Board of
<br />Commissioners' Meeting Room and begin at or about 6 p.m.
<br />WHEREAS, the December agenda work session will be held in the Board of
<br />Commissioners' Meeting Room and commence upon the conclusion of the
<br />organizational meeting or at about 6:15 p.m.; and
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Cabarrus County Board of
<br />Commissioners, pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40(a), does
<br />hereby:
<br />Establish the Board's regular agenda work session schedule to meet at
<br />3:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room at the Governmental Center on the
<br />following dates:
<br />January 5, 2010*
<br />February 1, 2010
<br />March 1, 2010
<br />April 5, 2010
<br />May 3, 2010
<br />June 7, 2010
<br />*Tuesday
<br />July 6, 2010*
<br />August 2, 2010
<br />September 7, 2010*

<br />Establish the Board's regular meeting schedule to meet at 6:30 p.m. in
<br />the Commissioners' Meeting Room at the Governmental Center on the
<br />following dates:

<br />February 15, 2010 August 16, 2010
<br />March 15, 2010 September 20, 2010
<br />April 19, 2010 October 18, 2010
<br />May 17, 2010 November 15, 2010
<br />June 21, 2010 December 20, 2010
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that any recessed, special or emergency meeting
<br />will be held as needed with proper notice as required by North Carolina
<br />General Statute 153A-40.
