March 24, 2008 (Regular Meeting) Page 753 <br />WHEREAS, the 2008 Meeting Schedule established the meeting dates for <br />work sessions, regular meetings, conferences, annual retreat, etc. <br />WHEREAS, the 2008 Meeting Schedule set County Assembly Day as May 21, <br />2008; and <br />WHEREAS, due to a scheduling conflict, the North Carolina Association <br />of County Commissioners has rescheduled its annual County Assembly Day to <br />June 10, 2008; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners, does hereby amend its 2008 Meeting Schedule and sets County <br />Assembly Day as June 10, 2008 in Raleigh, North Carolina. <br />Adopted this the 24th day of March, 2008. <br />/s/ H. Last year, a committee <br />comprised of area local government representatives and several organizations <br />engaged in an effort to enhance the event and maximize the positive impact of <br />the race to ensure its continuation at Lowe's Motor Speedway. The County <br />contributed $20,000.00 in support the last two fiscal years and is being <br />requested to fund the same amount this year. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment: <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br />DEPARTMENT OF OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS <br />AMOONT: $20,000.00 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Transfer Between Departments/Funds <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: This budget amendment transfers funds from Contingency <br />to JHE Production Group, Inc., a local organizing committee, as a committee <br />fee for participation in the planned events showcasing the positive impact of <br />the All-Star Challenge and to ensure that it remains at Lowe s' Motor Speedway <br />and Cabarrus County. <br />Present <br />Account No. Approved Budget Increase <br />00191910-9660 $366,227.00 <br />Contingency <br />00191980-9716 $0.00 $20,000.00 <br />JHE Production Group, Inc. - Nextel <br />of <br />- Transfer of Road <br />The Board of Commissioners authorized the purchase of property off <br />Pitts School Road for the purpose of construction required road improvements <br />related to a new elementary school. Those improvements were completed and <br />accepted by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) and the <br />right-of-way related to them must be transferred to NCDOT for maintenance. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the right-of-way transfer of <br />property off Pitts School road (Tax Map No. 5508-93-0897) and authorized the <br />County Manager and County Attorney to execute the required documents for <br />transfer on behalf of Cabarrus County. <br />(F-7) Cabarrus Soil 6 Water Conservation District - Budget Amendment - <br />(Appropriation of Grant Funds - $35,000.00) <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment: <br />Decrease Revised Budget <br />$20,000.00 $396,227.00 <br />$20,000.00 <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br />
