He said this form will <br />be used in the future and will require the developer's signature. A brief <br />discussion ensued. <br />(G-S) Bid Award of Dispatch Furniture Consoles for Sheriff's Department - <br />E911 Communication Center to Bramic Creative Business Products, Ltd. <br />6:08 <br />Paul Hunt, Chief Deputy, presented a request for the purchase of 16 <br />Dispatch Furniture Consoles for the Sheriff Department E911 Communication <br />Center for the new Law Enforcement Center. He reported a formal Request for <br />Bids was advertised for this specific equipment, but only one bid was <br />received directly from the manufacturer, Bramic Creative Business Products <br />Limited. He further reported the total purchase amount is not to exceed <br />$329,000.00. <br />Rid Tabnlatinn <br />Company Bid Additional Comments <br />Bramic Creative Business <br />Products Ltd. $329,000.00 only bid received directly from <br />manufacturer. <br />John Day, County Manager, reported the furniture request is being <br />presented now because construction of the Sheriff's Administration building <br />running ahead of schedule. <br />time. <br />Chief Deputy Hunt also advised that the furniture has a ten week lead <br />The bid advertisement was posted on the County's website on April 10, <br />2008 at 9:15 a.m. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board voted to authorize the purchase of 16 <br />Dispatch Furniture Consoles from Bramic Creative Business Products Limited at <br />a cost not to exceed $329,000.00 and authorized the County Manager and <br />Finance Director to approve an associated budget amendment, if needed. <br />(G-9) Proclamation Declaring May 2008 as Pet Awareness Month <br />Note: This item was removed from the Consent Agenda for discussion at <br />the request of Commissioner Carruth. <br />Commissioner Carruth commented on several upcoming events sponsored by <br />the Animal Protection and Preservation Advisory Committee and read the <br />following Proclamation Declaring May 2008 as Pet Awareness Month: <br />Proclamation No. 2008-06 <br />Proclamation <br />Whereas, pets enrich our lives in a variety of ways, from being <br />companions to the lonely, to being eyes for the blind, friends to families, <br />and protectors of our lives, <br />Whereas, there are thousands of homes in Cabarrus County were dogs, <br />cats, and other household pets make the lives of our families richer, <br />Whereas, numerous organizations, including the Humane Society of <br />Greater Cabarrus County, Cabarrus Cares, and Cabarrus Pets Society, as well <br />as many other independent rescue organizations make sure animals that are <br />abandoned or given up are provided the opportunity for a high quality of life <br />through adoption programs, <br />Whereas, organizations that train specialized dogs for public service <br />to include detection of drugs and bombs, as well as rescue of trapped <br />individuals, _ <br />Whereas, at least 10 veterinary practices operate in Cabarrus County, <br />employing well over one hundred individuals dedicated to the prevention and <br />treatment of illnesses and injuries to animals, <br />
