October 20, 2008 (Regular Meeting) Page 998 <br />COMPANY 4-DOOR HYBRID 4-DOOR HYBRID ADDITIONAL COMMENTS <br /> SEDAN SUV <br />Town and Country $29,302.00 Stated no pricing available <br />Toyota yet for SUV <br />Ben Mynatt $22,936.93 $98,036.00 <br />Chevrolet <br />The Notice, "Hybrid Vehicles Request for Bids" was published on the <br />County's website on August 20, 2008. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the bid award to Town and Country <br />Toyota for the purchase of 22 Toyota Camry Hybrids at a cost of $29, 302.00 <br />each, for a combined total of $534,649.00. <br />.ff's Office - Temporary Part-Time Civilian <br />Currently, a deputy assigned to the Communications Division is on <br />extended military leave for a minimum one-year obligation through at least <br />April 2009. A second deputy in this division is scheduled for deployment in <br />January 2009. We are required to reinstate both to a like position at the <br />completion of their military leave. The decision to hold these positions for <br />their return is based on the nature and the qualifications required. These <br />are Deputy Sheriff, Grade 65, positions. The establishment of four Civilian <br />Telecommunicator Part-Time temporary positions to perform the duties of the <br />officers on military leave is recommended. The expense incurred for the <br />temporary positions would be under the salary and benefit amount budgeted due <br />to the lower grade and lack of benefits. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved up to four temporary Civilian <br />Telecommunicator Part-time Grade 64 positions conditioned on actual military <br />leave incurred by these deputies. <br />00 <br />s Office - Budget Amendment (Appropriation or xewarc nunas - <br />The National Motor Club of America provides reward money to any person <br />or agency that recovers a stolen vehicle that is registered with their <br />company. The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office recovered a vehicle that was <br />registered with National Motor Club of America. In accordance with National <br />Motor Club's policy, they issued a check in the amount of $5,000.00 to the <br />Sheriff. This money will be deposited into the Sheriff's Office budget. <br />Funds have been requested to be used for an employee recognition event. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment: <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br />DEPARTMENT OF SHERIFF <br />AMOUNT: $5,000.00 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: The National Motor Club rewarded Sheriff Brad Riley with <br />$5,000.00 in the recovery of a stolen vehicle.
