November 17, 2008 (Regular Meeting) Page 1064 <br />Chairman White presented a request to hold the December agenda work <br />session on December 1st, upon the conclusion of a reception honoring elected <br />officials and the Board of Commissioners; organizational meeting, for <br />efficiencies and convenience. He stated the necessity of approving a <br />resolution to amend the meeting schedule. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution: <br />Resolution Amending the <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners' <br />2008 Meeting Schedule <br />Resolution No. 2006-22 <br />Whereas, on December 17, 2007, the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners adopted a meeting schedule for calendar year 2008, which sets <br />forth the dates, times and locations of various official county meetings; <br />Whereas, the December agenda work session was previously set for <br />Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at 3:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room at the <br />Governmental Center; <br />Whereas, the Board desires to hold the December agenda work session on <br />Monday, December 1, 2008 in the Commissioners' Meeting Room, at or about 6:45 <br />p.m. and upon conclusion of a reception honoring elected officials and the <br />Board of Commissioners' organizational meeting, for efficiencies and <br />convenience; <br />Now, therefore be it resolved, the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners hereby amends its 2008 Meeting Schedule as follows: <br />The December agenda work session will be held on Monday, December <br />1, 2008, at or about 6:95 p.m., in the Commissioners' Meeting <br />Room and upon conclusion of a reception honoring elected <br />officials and the Board of Commissioners' organizational meeting. <br />Adopted this the 17tH day of November, 2008. <br />/s/ H. At its October meeting, the Parks Commission unanimously voted <br />to recommend the appointment of John Parker to complete Mr. Thibault's <br />unexpired term ending on January 31, 2010. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba <br />and unanimously carried, the Board accepted the resignation of Justin <br />Thibault from the Parks Commission. By the same vote, the Board appointed <br />John Parker to the Parks Commission as an "at-large" member to complete an <br />unexpired term ending January 31, 2010. <br />(H-2) Appointment - Nurain4 Home Community Advisory Committee - Removal from <br />Roster <br />After serving more than 15 years on the Nursing Home Community Advisory <br />Committee, Ms. Marie Pless has requested to be removed from the committee's <br />roster due to health issues. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board removed Ms. Marie Pless from the Nursing <br />Home Community Advisory Committee Roster and commended her for her years of <br />faithful service to Cabarrus County. <br />
