UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Privette and unanimously carried, the Board approved the submission of the Eit Community Grant application and authorized the Chairman to execute the corresponding documentation. (F-20) Additional Sheriff's Deputy to Work in the Town of Harrisburg At this time, the Town of Harrisburg is reimbursing the Sheriff's Office for salary and benefits for six officers that are assigned to work in the Town of Harrisburg. Harrisburg has requested the Sheriff's Office add one more deputy and as with past agreements, Harrisburg will reimburse the Sheriff's Office for salary and benefits related to the new deputy. Any additional equipment needed by the deputy, including patrol vehicle, will be provided by the Town of Harrisburg. A budget amendment increasing the Sheriff's Budget by $15,366 to appropriate funds for the remainder of this fiscal year is requested. She further reported the entire $900,000.00 grant was expended and eleven homes were rehabilitated. At 6:59 p.m., Chairman Carruth opened the public hearing on the 2004 CDBG Scattered Site Housing Rehabilitation Program Close-out Public Hearing. The Public Hearing Notice was published on February 1 and 9, 2007 in THE INDEPENDENT TRIBUNE and THE CHARLOTTE OBSERVER (Cabarrus Neighbors). There was no one present to address the Board and Chairman Carruth closed the public hearing.
